I work in an Airport as a security officer and know the value of passports. They are a very necessary item of identification and have been very useful in verifying peoples identity and removing some baddies from vulnerable aircraft. With data bases being updated on a daily basis we are better able to fight the good fight by using such documents. Its in every country worldwide now and a fact of life almost everywhere. During WW2 you couldn't move without I.D. Today is more relaxed, so enjoy the privilege of being the proud owner of your freedom document, which allows you to visit any country you wish.

No it isn't. It's because some silly sod is sat in an office somewhere with nothing beater to do than make our lives a bloody misery. It's about time we had a priminister instead of a control freak. All this crap in the name of security. Don't be so bloody gullible
