Put it in your pocket and save it for the next time you go there. I had the exact same thing happen at a chinese restaurant. I lucked out because another table had part of a rat in the egg flower soup (that is true). Sadly they closed down - they had good eggrolls.

call the health dept, where there is one roach there are a million or so more. gross. we all know there are roaches in every restaurant, but most restaurants have very good pest control. I think in most states they are required by law to have a pest control system in place, obviously they don't have one or it needs to be reviewed for flaws.

Free lunch sounds fine to me, you might've gotten more out of it but I personally don't care that much. I could never sue a company for thousands of dollars just 'cause I found a dead mouse in a jar, I'd have to lie and say it freaked me out so much, I'd just get a new jar and enjoy the new sandwich as much as if it'd never happened.

Was it a good roach or a bad roach? If it was the bad kind, call the health department. If it was the good kind... well, ask if you can join them sometime to make ammends for it.

The insect in your beverage is a HUGE indicator that you should leave immediately. Do not consume the food or beverages from cockroach infested restaurants, even if it's free my dear.
