I think you mean Highland Park. I'm not familiar with any place called Highland Heights.

Highland Park is one of L.A. 's oldest neighborhoods. It is a working class, mostly latino neighborhood however gentrification is turning it into a desirable and hip place to live like neighboring Mt. Washington and Eagle Rock.

I think it's a great neighborhood to live, and if you are looking to buy a house, Highland Park still has reasonable prices (by reasonable, I'm talking $550,000 !!!) The public schools, though, are generally considered to be not so good.

Like Eagle Rock there any lots of lovely old houses in Highland Park. There are lots of hills and trees. It's much prettier than Hollywood. It's also close to Pasadena and there is easy access to downtown L.A. And York Blvd. has the best Mexican food outside of Mexico!
