I'm going to make this short and to the point:I really want to be able to run on a daily basis for health reasons but it's near impossible. I am in horrible physical shape and I tested myself, I can run for less than 1 minute without running out of breathe and having a painful migraine. When I run the pain is horrible and I physically can't do it for a long time.

Is there some way I could slowly train myself to be able to run for long periods of time?

you need to go to the doctor and get an ok for physical fitness. After, and if you pass that, you need to start SLOW!!!! You have to start walking, then walking further, then speed walking, speed walking further, jog a little, walk, jog a little, walk, ya get it? make sure whatever you do, to do it slow, there is nothing worse than injuries to stop your progress! You should also do strength training.....everything fitness wise goes hand in hand. go to a gym and get a trainer, that is why they are there. Good luck girl and stay motivated....you CAN do it! Just remember, nothing worth doing comes easily.

Due to the headaches I would check with your doctor first. In any case you need to know how to breath correctly and also remember to up the time gradually. If you are smoking try to quit as well as this will help. The idea of being so short of breath makes me think that you really should get a physical and explain to him what is going on.

Start off your training with /daily/ walking, then progress to speed walking, then do a SLOW jog, then jog at normal speed, and run at a steady pace. engage in each activity for at least 1 week until you feel you are able to move ahead.
