Employers are required by law to provide W2s to all employees by Jan 31, either by handing them to you or placing them in the mail. If your employer refuses to do so, contact the IRS and file a missing W2 complaint. The IRS will investigage the issue and either secure your W2 for you or assist you in providing alternate documentation.

You might remind the employer that there are penalties for failure to provide a timely W2 -- between $50 and $150 per late W2.
