although that is an interesting bit of urban myth/ truth, i cant see how that could be possible with so many factors. some people are born fat but die skinny(vice versa). unless it is one of gods little mysteries i cant see that to be probable.

No, that's not possible. Most of our body weight, even at birth, is water. Burning removes the water and most everything else, rendering us to our most basic element, carbon. Carbon is very light in weight. Even someone my size (over 200 lbs.) would only yield a pound or two of ash. Average birth weights in the USA are 6-9 pounds. Sorry, it's a nice, romantic, completely religious idea, but scientific fact buries it.

To answer you question no the two weights are not the same. However you are right that our mortal bodies will return to the dust from which they orginally came.

Our spirit, which were breathed into us, will either go to be with the Lord in Heaven or the lord of hades depending on your choises here on earth.

No, my mother was cremated and the ashes did definitely have the same weight as the little baby she was when she was born. Where do you get these ideas? I don't think ashes are the same as dust and god does not exist anyway.

Nonsense. The body grew and added mass after birth. And it is very seldom that the body is fully turned to ash during cremation.
Your quote is for a fully grown body.

I am not sure if it is true. When my Mom passed away, she was cremated and my sisters and I have small urns with some of her ashes inside. I know she is always with me.

Not true at all. Take a little time away from the tele-evangelists and the bible and absorb some reality.

It is not true. There is no relation between them. You were made by your parents; god had nothing to do with it.
