Spend your money on the lens and the mega-pixels - Zeiss lenses are best - Sony and Canon are also very excellent quality. Try to avoid any that want to hook you into a package where the camera docks on their printer - it is a scam to sell their special photo printers, photo paper and inks - HP and Kodak are in this category.
A good digital camera will also have a USB connection so you can hook it right up to your computer and removable memory so you can add and expand.
