Sulfite free beer?

To the best of my knowledge no modern beer has sulphite in it and I can't for a minute imagine why you would put it in. Some brewers need to alter the chemistry of their brewing water and so might add calcium sulphate (SO4), but not sulphites (SO3).

What makes you think the beer you are drinking has sulphites in it?
