I wonder why we bother to ask questions that start with "why do [fill in the blank] like [fill in the blank]" at all. Non dispudendum gustibus est, if I remember my Latin: there is no disputing matters of taste.
Why do you like chocolate more than vanilla? Why do I prefer Earl Grey Tea to Orange Pekoe? Why do you wear one color and someone else another? Taste; simply matters of taste.
I suspect the main reason the scenario you describe is preferred by some men is that they enjoy unwrapping the package, as it were, but don't want to bother getting out of their own clothes.

Some men are sexually aroused by the idea of being sex objects for visual women. For whatever reason, beyond the scope of this question, these men are not turned on by one on one sex with a woman. They prefer to strip and give auto-erotic performances for the ladies, and more often than not, the women are strangers to them.
