one is nearly stepped on or crushed by those planning to enter? Mankind has been using elevators for a lonnnnnnnng time and we still don't remember that before getting on the elevator we must wait for those getting off. Why is it?

I agree that we are more preoccupied with our busy lives now more than ever. Just stand close to the door before it opens and those waiting outside will be reminded of the procedure.

I wish there were an answer for that. I work in a place where you use the elevator several times a shift and you can't get off because the ones wanting to get on are in your way.

Because those people KNOW in their heart that they are way more important than you-so they must prove it by acting as though it's your responsibility to look out for them!

here's why:
if we were to get in before the others got out, we would be stuck in the middle. however, according to fysix, u must let out some form of air before blowing more in, in a closed environment. they must get out first, because they have no way of escapin once we are inside.we are on the outside therefore e have space to move inorder to give them a chance to leave, they cant do the same for us because it is like thay are trapped in the elevator.
also it is common courtesy to let them go out before u overtake their space.

My first reaction is to say that people are pigs. But, this is not fair to pigs, who are innocent animals, and can't be expected to know better.

Because people are inconsiderate, they just care about themselves...as long as their in, their set.They don't care that others need to get out.

if you let the people off the thing first, it gives you more room to get on - especially when it's crowded
