I agree. Put the pedophiles into the general prison population. Why give them a chance? They didn't give the children a chance.
F*ck em!
Let 'em die a violent death. It will stop the cycle Helen B talks about.

No more baby rape. No more cycle. No more victims.

You will find that every person who enters prison is mentally ill in some way; some more than others. I would say that paedophiles are, as a rule, extremely mentally ill. I don't know what the answer is for the whole problem in general, but resulting to violence or not protecting them takes the nobility out of us as a society.

One should also note two things. Some, a few, not many, are actually innocent but get convicted anyway (and I represented a guy who was accused of one of these crimes and he was clearly innocent, but he ended up taking a deal to avoid a potential life sentence and I had so much evidence against the accuser that trial might have been fun had the stakes not been so high; the accuser was a kid who had been molested and who was molesting others and I had so many witnesses who would testify to this; About a month after my guy's plea, the kid got arrested for molesting two kids I knew nothing about; But the DA believed in the innocence of the accuser the whole way). Also, you have to separate the truly aweful paedophiles from the sex offenders who didn't really do these horendous crimes. But the guys on the inside don't make those distinctions. I think your question lumps a lot of folks who may not deserve your punishments with others who might not deserve it.

But, again, the law is set up to punish the guilty. There is probably a moral justification for our criminal justice system. But there is no moral justification to torture or kill these folks. Additionally, what if one of your loved ones or just a friend made a horrible mistake and did something like this? What would you think then?

Before you use a word like 'Paedophile' you need to fully understand what it covers. Most of us think of it as actually having sex with pre-pubescants, or the making and/or distributing of pornography depicting such things. Now, if that was all it meant, we would all know that that was very serious and justifies the term 'Paedophile'.

Unfortunately, it now incorporates sexual crimes of a somewhat lesser order, and, as a result, somewhat waters down the seriousness with which it may be perceived, because, we are not clear what we are talking about. For example, an eighteen year old having sex with a fifteen year old with full consent, would be put on the sex offenders register, and could easily be called a paedophile. Similarly, someone sat at home with some sort of emotional or other problem who downloads material of a sexual nature, lets say depicting a fifteen year old, but takes no further action in terms of carrying anything out in practice, again, would be regarded as a sex offender, placed on the register and no doubt referred to as a 'paedophile'.

At one time, before emotional and misleading terms like 'Paedophile' were invented the law used to spell out exactly what offence they had committed, so that we knew where we stood.

Now, as bad as the more serious sexual offences are, does it not surprise you that we have not created a similar term for, what I consider to be more serious crimes against children. I am referring to, the physical mistreatment/assault of children, up to and including murder. We have seen examples of this happening only recently. The routine withdrawel of love and affection from children. Do not underestimate the very serious effects that this has on children. They are unable to function normally, and will almost certainly have great difficulty in creating good relationships in future, and they are far more likely to be anti-social, take drugs, alcohol etc. Also, it is almost impossible to detect this sort of abuse, because it is passive, and probably isn't illegal.

I think that there is a related issue, and I don't give a 'tinkers cuss' what feminists think or how many thumbs down I get. That is, that there are nearly 400,000 abortions in this country alone each year. Now, with such crass disregard for human life, by the very people who should care and nurture it the most, is it surprising that we are starting to see human beings as disposable commodoties? There is a potential feed through to attitudes to sick people, the old, and others that we increasingly regard as no longer worthy of life.

Some of the people you want to torture and hang, are probably emotionally/psychologically ill, possibly resulting from the sort of upbringing I have referred to above. I am not an apologist for this sort of behaviour, but I am just trying to bring some sort of perspective to it.

All criminals, paedophiles especially, should know they are going to forfeit their human rights in prison for committing crimes. They seem to have a better time than their victims, who have to live with the trauma caused by the these villains. Prison should be a place that they never want to return to.

The state passes judgement and sentence - not individuals. They deserve the same level of protection that any other prisoner could expect.
You could argue that prison is not enough/the wrong approach, but lets develope the law to provide what these people need (not want).

well they obviously don't do this to go to prison to get protected, that's silly. Prisoners are actually a bunch of nice guys, in a way they are the most respectable and honorable people i've ever seen. To this end, a pedophile will be beaten possibly to death by these righteous honorable criminals. The two things you don't do as a pirate or criminal is hurt women or children.

They are not that "protected" in prison as once the word gets out the prisoners will beat the person to death if not just shy of killing him

It's a wonderful idea of course, and like all wonderful ideas, absolutely flawless.

The problem comes before that, when the abuser, knowing that the child may tell tales, decides to kill the victim and bury the evidence.

I'm sure you mean well, but you're not very sensible are you?

They should at least lock them up for a while, and let them roam in the general population, and be sure to let the other prisoners know what they have done. Some of these whacko judges are giving them such light sentences. Do they think these weirdos are capable of rehabilitation?

If the corrections guys didn't protect the pedophiles the cons would kill them inside of an hour of arrival. Pedophelia is the only taboo in prison.
