Is it right for a boyfriend who has made most of the meals for you during the last week (but not all), to be annoyed with you because you complained about having to make food when you came home at 7 in the morning (in agony because you have a disease called endometriosis, which means you're in pain almost every day of your life, and you've been in agony for the last 10 hours) while he is on the phone to his friends.

He is also working the same shifts as me, we're finishing work at the same time. I'm not expecting him to cook for me., I'm not even hungry at this time of day... !!

Have you referred him to MENDO (Men Who Love Women with Endometriosis)? It might be helpful in terms of opening the lines of communication where this disease is concerned. Endo doesn't just affect the woman, it affects everyone in her life. Here are some links:

Good luck and know you're not alone.

Was he annoyed because you complained about the food, OR, the fact that you came home at 7 in the morning? Are you on a night shift?

There are medications and procedures to reduce or eliminate the pain you feel.

He could be more patient and understanding. You could be forgiving and show appreciation when he does help you out.

You both need to communicate your feelings more openly so there is no resentment on either side.

Actually....Id be annoyed too ( sorry ) I can see you might not want to cook because you dont feel well.....but that doesnt mean that he should have to. Maybe he wasnt hungry......and since he had already done most of the cooking all week.....he just wanted to relax ( and finish his phone chat ) I suspect you were complaining less about feeling unwell.....and more about how he "should " cook ( because you feel unwell ) Thats unfair of you IMO.

i think its wrong if that was me i would be preety upset with him.. if your coming home at 7 in the morning and in pain and he rather talk to his friends than cook for you i would say something to him.. he shouldn't be mad at you because your in pain.. he should be mad at him self because he is the person in the wrong not you..

It sounds like you need to have an honest conversation with him about this problem. Hope all goes well for you.
