Yes. But it will also bleach your hair a bit!

Also avoid wearing blacks or blues. And hanging around bananas - for some reason they're attracted to em!

But the surefire way of warding off Mozzies is by buying a can of "Off!" spray!

I have no idea if lemon works, but either way I would urge you not stop the Malarone.

Lemon essence may repell mosquitos, but anti-malarials will reduce the chance of you getting malaria after you are bitten, and are very effective against the life threatening condition of cerebral malaria.

Even if you are only bitten by one mosquito carrying Malaria, if you are not taking anti-malarial drugs you could get cerebral malaria and die.

Malarone is considered a pretty safe drug, but if you are experiencing side effects from it there are alternatives - discuss with a doctor first though!

I think it is lemon eucalyptus, not lemon.

A study of lemon eucalyptus as a repellent found that 5 of the 10 participants were not bitten over two days in an area of California with a high level of mosquitoes. Lab tests also show that it is repellent to mosquitoes. Field tests show that a specific extract of lemon eucalyptus, Citriodiol, is effective against ticks. Other lab tests show that Terpineol (found in pine oil) and 1,8-cineole/eucalyptol are repellent to mosquitoes.

para-Menthane-3,8-diol (PMD) comes from lemon eucalyptus, and is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control in the US. It is a good alternative to deet (N,N-diethyl-3-methylbenzamide), which is a bonus as deet is pretty toxic. PMD is found in a spray called MyggA Natural. The CDC don't recommend using lemon eucalyptus oil, only the extract.

NO The degree of lemon would be too slight Even citronella would be insufficient and no one wants to smell like an anti mosquito candle. Use a proper insect repellant creme

Avon Skin So Soft is supposed to be good for repelling midges and other flying pests. I havn`t tried it personally, but other caravanning acquaintances say it`s good. Eating curries and smoking are also apparently effective. Midges don`t bother people who reek of curry or fags!
