Hasn't anyone ever thought of that as proof of God? How else can women account for the extra rib. When God took the rib from Adam it left man a rib short. How much more proof does them damn Atheists need than that?

But let's just pretend for a moment that it actually was true. It still wouldn't prove the story actually happened. What's to say it wouldn't simply indicate that the author decided to capitalize on something he knew about human anatomy... writing this little tidbit into his tale so as to seem more convincing to the sheep?
The latter certainly seems more likely to me, especially seeing as all these millenia later, people are still misinformed about how many ribs men and women really have... and all because of blind faith in a piece of fiction. (And not even particularly well-written fiction, at that.)

Because that statement is not correct. Women and men genetically have the same number of ribs. When God took the rib from Adam to make Eve, He didn't change Adam's genetic code forever.

what the....? Women do not have an "extra" rib. What are you smoking? Even if Adam was a rib short, he wouldn't pass that on to his children since it wouldn't be a genetic thing. Seriously.. how are you this dumb? Do you just believe everything you hear?

i didn't know that, just remember us humans are so unique just look we sleep eat waste breath the right air everything is in place for us i doubt a explosion out of no were created us.its like a building if theres a beautiful well designed building. i doubt theres a bomb that blow up out of nowhere and put that building there! you feel ME. lol

I wouldn't consider this "proof" of God's existence.
If anyone actually cares to count ribs, the most that we can suggest is that the writers of Genesis noticed, too, and they came up with a way to explain it.
God's existence is proven the same way my existence is proven.
I could very well be an undercover NSA agent (female) looking for Russian spies. The way you prove who I am is to come to my house and meet me.
Why should God be any different?

Because more and more people know that the story of Adam & Eve is not the truth. When people from the same family produce children, they are always born with genetic defects.
