i got mono about 2 weeks ago nd iv been really sick. im just starting to feel better now. besdies me, 3 people who i eat lunch with in school and who are on the basketball team with me have it too. my boyfriend thinks that i have cheated on him just because i has it nd he doesn't. i told him that i would never cheat on him, over nd over again, but he doens t seem to believe me. i told him people who i eat lunch with nd hang out with have it nd all he says is that the only way you could catch it was to makeout with someone, so now he thinks i cheated on him, but i NEVER have nd i would never dream of doing that to him. i know i caught it from sharing drinks nd food with friends, but he doesnt believe me, nd i dnt want to tell him, i dnt want to break up with some one iv been going out with for 9 months because he thinks iv cheated on him, but i never have. help?

I got mono in Highschool....my boyfriend had never even heard of it ! I never did find out how I got it.....but it is NOT from kissing ! ( trust me....I did ALOT of kissing...but only I had it ) I also have an uncle who got it when he was in gradeschool.....I seriously doubt he was doing any kissing ! I think its just a viral infection that some unlucky souls pick up ( probably from the lunchroom table....just like every other cold )

Mono has nothing to do with kissing or cheating on anyone. It means that you haven't been taking care of yourself. Like sleeping or eating properly. I do hope that you have seen a doctor and got some proper medince to assist you in getting better.

The myth that mono is a "kissing disease" is an old wive's tale and your boyfriend takes that old wive's tale as fact...that makes him not to bright in my book and he wouldn't be MY boyfriend for very long...I prefer men with brains and obviously your boyfriend doesn't have one.

this is really a trust/communiation issue.
if this goes on any longer, that he cant trust you, you have to decide, and he as well, if you guys can have a relationship based on him thinking you cheated and you feeling depressed.
i got sick too like that, sharing a cola, and you know, i told my bf, and he understood. its trust and communication
