You don't honestly think that is the only sin you've ever committed, do you?

I've often wondered about this myself. Why create beings with not only the capacity but in some cases the predisposition to sin, only to declare that committing that sin would result in endless and everlasting torture and torment?
And then have only a holy book written by people (whether inspired by God or not, STILL just people), and ministers or priests who are at times of questionable morals themselves to guide people to the ONLY way to avoid damnation.
I just don't believe that a loving God would do that. I believe that holy men that needed to find a way to keep people in their temples and churches would WRITE those things though. Which is the reason that I can no longer say that I am a mainstream Christian at all anymore.

I don't get it either. That belief seems to posit a VERY deranged God.
If my neighbor came up to me, and told me he'd beat me for all eternity if I didn't do what he said, I'd move.
Christians then say I'm judging God by human standards.
Horse dung....I'm human. If he wants me to accept him, I'll judge him by the standards most humans use. And those standards make him sound deranged.
We would NOT accept the type of behavior the fire and brimstone whackos talk about from a human, and God is supposed to be better then us.
So which is it? Am I worshiping a loving God out of fear? If that's the case, aren't I a coward for not saying no?

First off what makes you believe that he does? God manifests him/her self to every person in a different way. Just think about someone in a very remote place who has no concept of a Christian, Jewish, or any other organized religeon. Typically he believes in some sort of higher power that has meaning to him. Do you think that an all powerful all knowing God would condem him for not knowing who Jesus is? I don't and I do not worship any sort of evil persona. So please do not tell me how I believe. That makes you just as guilty as the people who told you that.

if you had a son and gave his life to save someone elses life and that person refused to acknowledge that sacrifice or respect it in anyway - would you like it? But the point is really one of LAW - a penalty had to be paid, only a certain price was acceptable to pay it - if you don't accept the payment made for you the LAW with its penalty still stands against you.

It's not necessarily a failure to worship Jesus that would get you cast into HEll, rather it is choosing your way or your plans or your desires over God's way and plans and desires for you, which according to Chrisitans are far superior anyway

You misunderstand hell.We are all born sinners, and without a cure,we are all on our way to hell by default.God,being righteous and holy, cannot let people off for the sins they've commited-someone had to pay the price. That person was Jesus.

Why do you think you have all the answers? Different people believe different ideas of godhood and religion. My idea of any suffering is having regret for not believing in Jesus when he manifests himself unto us in heaven. It's not the torment of a fiery h*ll.

No, you've just picked up some bad theology and reject all of Christianity because of it. Arminianism/Pelagianism isn't all that's out there. Try Reformed/Presbyterian, it's nothing radical at all, and turns things around so there's no need for questions like this. But beware, it'll put you in your place...like it has me...

So don't.
But the Bible doesn't say that God sends you to hell for not accepting Jesus.

Because otherwise he'll torture you. But if you accept him, you go to a place where (according to Revelation), the streets are made of gold!
GOLD STREETS!
I think we all drive BMW's too. And there's a huge swimming pool filled with beer.
