Here's the thing: on this information-saturated environment we like to call 'the internet'..and specifically on a user-participatory forum such as 'Yahoo Answers', 'serious' replies (and, to be real, serious *questions*) can be few and far inbetween.

The simple truth is, all you really can faithfully rely upon to determine what information is or might be useful to you in this context is *your own discernment*. An answer does not even need to be The Answer just so as long as it at least helps to point you in the right direction; you may learn something new or be reminded of what you already knew but forgotten somewhere.

Additionally (and finally), the question itself can often indicate the place you need to seek an answer. One wouldn't (or at least shouldn't) seek a car mechanic to ask questions about algae lfe cycles anymore than ask a botanist about the fuel injection process of a diesel engine.
