Sometimes I really don't know what to say but I want to say something. So I pray for the right words to come. Next thing you know, inspiration hits me right at that moment and suddenly I'm typing away. But it's important that we pray with the right motives. For example, our aim in answering questions shouldn't be to show off what we know, or win an argument, or think that we'll give a better answer than anyone else. Also we shouldn't have an ego about getting best answer or thumbs up, or griping about getting thumbs down. I admit at times I've been guilty of all of that. But what I pray most for when I give answers is that I will speak God's truth the best I can and not be mistaken. I also pray that what I say may in some way be helpful to the one who asks the question. ( or to anyone else who reads it for that matter.) I hope that God will use me in that way. If not then I would stop doing this all together.
But I have to admit that in spite of everything, I love being on this site. There is always something being discussed here, and there is such a wide variety of opinions. I just want to be part of this active process and thank God for the opportunity to be heard.
Also, there is no need to rush to be the first to answer a new question. I'm just now answering yours even though you posted it 2 hours ago. So we could all take the time to pray.

Ep 6:18 praying always with all prayers and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints –
1 Thess 5:17 pray without ceasing
We must be in prayer mode all the time so that we remain spiritually sensitive all the time. These Scriptures above advocate that we should pray all the time. We cannot do this by praying with our own understanding because we will run short of words in no time. So it must mean praying in the Spirit most of the time. I believe that the Apostle Paul who wrote these verses must have done this himself for he claimed to have prayed in tongues more than all in the church at Corinthians (1 Cor 14:18).

I don't pray before I answer most of the everyday questions, because I really don't care one way or another about getting 10 points for knowing (or not knowing) the answer to "What is the largest lake in Ireland? ".
But when it's a person really asking for help about a relationship, a child, schoolwork, or jobs etc, I do pray that I can give a helpful answer.....and for the person who is under stress.
It never hurts anyone to answer anyone's question, with compassion and kindness.
Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.

I've prayed in the past that whenever I'm posting on Y/A that God would use me to edify and encourage the Saints and to call and convict the sinners but I don't pray before every session. Maybe it would be better if I did but I just try to post "in the Spirit" and trust that God has already heard my prayers.

Excellent point.
Prayer puts you in fellowship with the Holy Spirit Who guides you to all truth.
So yes, we should pray before answering questions.

I started doing it when I read the story of Nehemiah. Now, I pray while breathing in, open my mouth, and then if the Lord gives me something to say, I can do it on the exhale! "Prayer is the breath of the soul."

It makes no difference as people will come up with the same answers. If that were not so, non-believers would continuously answer questions incorrectly and many famous scientists have been non-believers.

There is a verse that says, "Pray continually" now that does not mean that I'm going to go around praying to myself all day, but that my life is one of prayer to God. All that you do should be a reflection of your love of God, for we love because He first loved us. My life is out of thankfulness for all Christ has done for me.
