How do you know when you have hypothermia and/or hyperthermia?

If I am cold, i shiver and i get goosepimples. Does that mean I have hypothermia? If I am hot, I sweat feel uncomfortable. Does that mean I have hyperthermia? How do you know you got it?

Hyper means "high", while Hypo means "low". So in this case,
hypothermia is what you mean. It is when your core body temp-

Hypothermia is a very serious, intense experience (Having had it before) Generally, you won't know if you have it. ONe of the side effects is that you become delerious and confused, so you will not generally know. Just cause you have goosebumps and stuff, doesn't mean you have hypothermia, jsut your cold. The only way that you can really tell if you do have it is if you know that you are cold (By taking your temperature or feeling yourself physically to see if your cold) but you feel warm.

when people get cold, they shiver and get goosebumps, that is the body's way of warming up. sweating in hot weather is the body's way of cooling off. hypothermia is a severe drop in body temperature due to extended exposure to extreme cold (icy lake, stranded in blizzard type conditions). what you are experiencing is NORMAL.

Try checking your temperature. Hypothermia is low and hyper is high. Seek medical attention accordingly.
