There isn't an afterlife. That's a contradiction in terms. After you're done living, you don't live anymore. If life is over then LIFE IS OVER. There's no living after you're through living.

Because when God made Adam and Eve that was supposed to be 'THE' life. But then they sinned and God kicked them out of the garden and seperated himself from them. They were then in the life that we know right now. Jesus then came to earth and died for us on the cross to be a sacrafice for our sins...Adam and Eve's sin...so that we could reunite with God, which is the afterlife. The afterlife is paradise...like the Garden of Eden where Adam and Eve lived...Heaven. Or Hell if we reject God.

The "life" and the "afterlife" are not mutually exclusive. They're part of a life cycle.

You could ask the same question of any other life cycle. Why do women have to get pregnant? Why do caterpillars turn into moths? Why do black widows eat their husbands?

It's not like you can sit around and one day come up with a clever reason for moths to not exists and expect caterpillars to suddenly wink out of existence.

Life happens as it happens. Just deal with it.

We are in this life to learn things that could not otherwise be learned with out a body or loss of memory of where we came from before this earth life. How would we understand death if we do not die? How about pain with out a body to be hurt? How about choices if we did not have to chose from what we learn ourselves?

THIS MAYBE AN AFTERLIFE, JUST BECAUSE YOU DONT REMEMBER THE PREVIOUS LIFE IT DOESNT MEAN THERE WASNT ONE. EXISTANCE OWNS US, THE SPLIT SECOND YOU DIE YOU WILL EXIST AGAIN . ITS LIKE HAVING AN OPERATION IN THE HOSPITAL THE SECOND YOU ARE ANESTHETIZED YOU ARE WAKING UP.

I'm assuming your point is - if I'm going to get to go to heaven, why am I wasting time here? Why not be directly beamed up? I think the reason is that God gives us a choice... well, many many choices throughout our lives. His hope is that 'as many as possible' will choose him, and the way I see it, the reason I haven't been 'beamed up' is to help as many as possible make that choice.
