Priests have always been good role models for boys of every generation, especially now. Priests consecrate their life completely to God in the service of His people. In a world of atheism, selfishness, and hatred , priests are there to do God's mission to spread faith , hope, and love. A few rotten apples do not speak for the entire priesthood . Priests are also human and sin. Let the first without sin cast the first stone.

I am by no means trying to suggest that all, or most priests are pedophiles. But, we know that there are pedophiles that exist and that they are predators and that they will go where their prey is. If we just eliminated the easy, unrestricted access to their victims, including unquestioned trust in priests by the congregation. Then pedophiles wouldn't even take the job of priest.
Parents also need to play the major role, they must be a place where their children can go with any information they have, with out fear of say, going to hell, or losing parents love.

Yes. I'm a Catholic, and have been all my life. I attended Catholic school and served as an altar boy. Nothing whatsoever happened to me in terms of abuse, and some of the priests I worked with were very influential. Their lives of devotion to God impressed me, and I found them to be decent, pious men. Young boys today are still finding priests to be inspiring role models, despite the media blitz against them.

A lot of Priests are not paedophiles, my son and daughter were altar servers and nothing happened to them, and they looked up to the Priests and respected them and they have turned out well with a Catholic upbringing and my sister is a Nun and I have a cousin who is a Priest and everyone loves him, his role is working with the youth and he is not a paedophile I have seen him with the kids and they adore him and no one is frightened of him

it all depond upon the upbringing of the children.. if we ubring our children with religious thoughts and parents teach them to obey priests.then they can be role models
otherwise it is difficult in today's materlisic world where criminals are being role models due to their bravery in young boys.
