I've tried a bunch of stuff since 6th grade. (8th grade now) Mary Kay, Proactiv, Neutrogena (which i've been using for a while and it helped but the acne isn't completely gone), Clean and Clear, and Clearisil. I even tried making my own face mask from toothpaste and baking soda (made the acne better but didn't get rid of it) I've tried all of it for at least a month and a half. So what do I do now? I forgot to mention that most of the stuff I've used ended up making it worse after a while. (except for faithful neutrogena) Open to suggestions

Yea I like neutrogena products too but they never fixed my rosacea problem. And I've tried everything, includingprescriptions from the dermatologist which were just too harsh for me.

I just answered someone else with acne problems. Check out sea buckthorn oil. It is amazing stuff and is the first thing that's ever properly helped me control my bad skin. I buy mine from here http://www.rosacea-remedy.com/remedy.html They do a customised service and it's not expensive so give them a call.
I buy mine from there because they don't dilute the oil like most places. Just read up on the sea buckthorn oil composition and scientific research. And I've seen it work. Rosacea and acne are quite similar in lots of ways so ask them - you got nothing to lose and from the way it's made my skin feel and looks so much better I wouldn't be surprised if it help yours too.
Every skincare product I have tried from the shops either made my skin burn and itch or make me spotty. I don't get spots very often now but when I dofeel themcoming, they just seem todryout overnight and never reallycome to anything :D I think it must be the sea buckthorn. Every one should have some in their first aid box if you ask me!

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

I felt your pain...I had acne through puberty and an additional 10 years after. I had been to a few dermatologists but they just wanted to dry my skin up to the point it was flakey all the time or red with rashes. After doing some online research and testing of many many products of my own (including Proactiv), I can tell you that there is no pill or cream out there that you can use for a week and it will forever get rid of your outbreaks.

But do not be discouraged, I did discover something that I believe has not been widely publicized because no company can patent it and make lots and lots of money off of people like you and me. It's called Pantothenic Acid - a fancy name for Vitamin B5. Go ahead and Google it...you will see a lot of references to curing acne. I was skeptical as with everything, but my skin has never been so soft and clear since I was probably 12 (I'm 26 now).
The one thing you have to remember when taking this vitamin supplement is that you must take it in high doses. You can buy it at any vitamin store, but only buy it in 1000mg (1gm) per pill strength. I found it online the cheapest.
To start, the recommended program starts you out with 3-5 grams a day for about 5 days. This helps your body get acclimated to the vitamin. You should start to notice a difference after 2 or 3 days, smaller pours, reduced redness, I even noticed increased energy. After that increase your dosage to 10 grams a day. I know it sounds like a lot, to take 10 pills a day, but think about how much you want clear skin and that should get you past it. The recommended program has you taking 10 grams for 3 months before backing off to 3-5 for maintenance. I actually only took 10 grams for a month and now am just maintaining with 5-6 grams a day and its working just fine. I did miss a day of pills and immediately started to breakout again so this is one of those things you must be faithful with.
Expect to shell out about $25 a month on 1000mg Pantothenic Acid. A small, small price to pay when you think of all the money wasted on the products out there.
There are very little side effects of taking these high doses. The only thing I would recommend is to take 3 pills with each meal, and one with a snack, otherwise you may get a little gas or slight diahrea. Nothing major though and by taking with meals it eliminates that problem.
If I help just one person with this recommendation, writing this would have been more than worth it. I know how frustrating it is to have acne, but it doesn't have to be for any one else out there who trys this simple yet highly effective treatment.

It could be that you aren't being consistent long enough ....Proactive seems to work for most people ...and also clearisil helps keep your skin free of oil which causes most acne....it is also an age thing....

I would first get some good advice from a dermatologist....acne can be almost a thing of the past nowdays.....there are so many good products out there.....

Get some good advice...then follow all the steps faithfully every day ....it may take some time.....but it will work.

Use cetaphil! You can get it at any store in a bar of soap or face soap in a pump. ( I use the bar on my back and the pump on my face)

It works sooooooo good. I use that in the morning, when I shower and at night. Then before I put my make up on I use pro-active advanced blemish treatment for any blemishes I may have. Then at night I put this medicine on called rousula ns. They are medicated pads. Some pharmacys have them. But if not just ask the pharmasist to order some for you. I do from Rite Aid. They work great but you have to rinse your face off in the morning cause its kinda sticky. I had troubles with ance for a while too. But this was the ONLY thing that helped. Hope some of this works for you!!!

See a dermatologist, they can really help you by getting you onto antibiotics that work from the inside to stop the acne. I've suffered from acne too, it's hard but you'll be ok if you stay strong. best of luck, and see a dermatologist! Luv nat

there is no cure its hormones. all those over the counter meds are just rip offs.i would suggest going to a dermatologist but considering your age i know they wouldn't do anything much, it runs in the family and is hormones. you can get try getting the neutrogena face mask and just like the toothpaste dab it on the pimples overnight drys them out ,but not a cure sorry.

You may need to see a dermatologist or if thats not possible, your family doctor to get some prescription...there are pills such as tetracycline that will help clear up acne, but may stain your teeth...the doctor can also prescribe a stronger benzoyl peroxide to help clear up the acne.

just make sure u dont touchur face often, little bacteria can cause major outbrakes. maybe its just that u have strong hormones, wuts ur age? my teenage years i couldnt get rid of it but now in my 20's its gone, just use face cleanser for acne, i wouldnt recommend any treatments, u get ur face used to all those chemicals, wen u stop using them u break out worst, give it time and dont touch ur face alot, or pop the pimples
