You need to contact the Social Securtiy Administration they will have record of your earnings from 1985 byt not your Tax records.

The IRS only keeps the last 10 years of Tax Return information so they do not have anything past 1997.

Goto the IRS website and look for Forms ont he left-side of the webpage. Then goto 4506T (which is an adobe pdf file). You can then file out the form and fax to the IRS. And ususally within 7 to 10 days, you will receive your tax return(s) and/or the W-2(s).

Good luck.

Contact the IRS. You can request a transcript of your tax return for free. If you need a photocopy of your return, then they will charge you $39 for each year that you requested.
