I'm glad we have freedom of religion, because everyone should have the chance to discover things on their own, not just have it thrown on them because of where they happen to have been born. You are talking about the 7 deadly sins, and I agree with most of what you said, but our nation is not "God Free" humans are that way. Also it is not very 'christian' like, to dislike anyone for the things that they do. Maybe you think, as a Christian, being gay is a sin, or being fat, or lazy... or whatever. But you haven't had to walk in their shoes, so to judge them would be unjust. And like I said before not very 'christian' like. But who knows any christians that really are anyways?

It is indeed a widespread commonality and at least you among other people understand it. I do not know if you are christian or not , but it is true that christians do not honor the bible to it's entirity. People will always "change fronts" and say and believe what will put them in the right of things. Think of it like this as an example
A rival neighbor of yours falsely claims to the police that you assaulted him. The police get an arrest warrant and they tracked you down and found marijuana on you. You get taken to court and your lawyer proves that you were not in town the day your neighbor had claimed to assault him on.To the judge and the jury you are still guilty of assault because they found marijuana on you.-----------------------people relate facts to something unrelated all the time like that. Some athiest are athiest because they can not come to peace with christianity and become quick to focus how wrong one particular religion is, thus forgeting the whole reason why they are athiests.
also, according to the bible it is not ok to be gay, however we are all guilty of sin in some form or another. a gay person has just as much reason to be in a church as non-gays (bible does not say to condem or shun them).

You seem to be a little obsessed with fat people, dumping them all in the same "greedy and lazy" box. Can you really be so superficial? "Man sees the appearance, but God looks into the heart." Your "seven deadly sins" don't even come from the Bible but from an old monastic tradition.
Do you really think God is so petty as to be hung up on people's personal habits? What did Amos say? "If you would make offerings to God, let justice flow like water." It's not what we say or do with ourselves that counts but how we take care of others, especially the powerless and excluded. Jesus came among us as "one who serves", and warned us to do the same. I don't think preaching and harangueing cut it. You have to show people how to act out your Christianity or you're a fake.
How about if we quit whining about how godless everybody else is and start acting like God makes a difference in our own lives. The old joke goes, "If Christianity were illegal, would there be enough physical evidence to convict you?"

It is not our place to place judgment upon others. It is OK to hate the sin but we must love the sinner. Quite a few people like to pick and choose parts of the Bible to accept and choose parts to ignore, even Atheists who do no believe any of it tend to do this, taking scripture out of context. I try to take the Bible as a whole, no one is perfect though.

Well, there's an old saying that I think is still largely true for many a "devout" Christian. "The biggest sin is the one that *I* don't commit". I understand my sin, so am more lenient about it, were as someone else's sin that I am not tempted by is harder to understand therefore easier to judge.

We are tired of the ruthless Christians that make the religion a laughing stock.. Don't you ever watch the news??? Some of the worst people in the U.S. are leaders in their churches... But, forgiven, they say... I think a lot of Christians are going too far with this forgiveness thing!!! They fill the pews on Sunday morning and live like he-- the rest if the week!!! And they hold their nose up to people everyday( snobs) It doesn't match up.

That is a very true statement.
Too often believers serve what is convenient for them.
We should embrace the whole truth, no simply the part which appeals to us.
