It is because of the shear numbers of children born to illegals within this country that a move is pressing forth to change the laws and put a stop to what is called "Anchor Babies".

With so many of these children being born into homes that can not support them and parents that are thinking more about how to possible use something as simple as a child to make it easier for them to stay within this country as an option. A child should be born out of love - not as a means to help someone that has already shown that they have no desire to follow the laws.

Discussion has been going on about this problem for some time. There is reason to believe that it should be addressed - possibly even this year (if things keep moving in the direction that they have been). Much of the move has to do with recent elections and many that were not voting the will of the citizens of this country were voted out of office - and letter writing and moves in this direction from those that stayed within office. A few didn't get voted out - but considering the tone of the country - I see that happening if they don't change their voting record.

Venganza,

Do you have a degree? College? High School? Anything? Have you ever studied the causes of poverty?

Population growth KILLS ECONOMIES!!!

All nations that over populate and/or rapidly populate (that is: start families at a young age) REMAIN DESPARATELY POOR!! Go Study That!!

Your question encapsulates every reason we in the U.S. (including millions of immigrant PhD's from China, Japan, India, Europe) are building strategies AGAINST illegal immigration. Not wanting MORE of it!

Only when nations like Guatemala (whose population has more than doubled since 1989) are forced to build their own economies, will they wake up and realize they have to STOP having so many babies!!

There would be a southward migration from the U.S. in search of jobs if only 1 out of every dozen couples - preferably the most highly educated – was permitted to have a child in those countries.

ALL LATIN-AMERICAN COUNTRIES WOULD OUTSTRIP THE WORLD IN TECHNOLOGY, JOBS AND WEALTH-CREATION!!!!!

The U.S. is crumbling beneath technological giants like Korea, Sweden, Russia, Germany, Japan and now China and India ONLY BECAUSE of OUT-OF-CONTROL POPULATION GROWTH GOBBLING UP PRECIOUS EDUCATION RESOURCES!!!

China instituted a one-child-policy in 1979. By the early eighties, class sizes started dropping from over 100 to around twelve students per teacher!!

Now China is RICH!!!

It's all about supply and demand. One baby bottle, 15 babies = HUNGRY BABIES. Get it?

You really showed the egg on your face with that question. I hope to God you're really a pro-education, legal immigrant asking that question just to scare Americans into taking action against this problem even sooner and with more force than ever.

Let's RATIFY AN AMENDMENT, AMERICA!! NO DESCENDANT OF ANY ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT MAY VOTE WITHOUT FIRST EARNING A MASTER'S DEGREE BEFORE HAVING ANY CHILDREN!!!!!!

You've inspired me, Vengaza!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!

That's a fact. We Hispanics have large families because we know that every child represent a future vote. In a few years from now no law will be passed in this country without the say so of the Hispanic community.

If you would read the 14 th real well, you'd know that Mexicans here illegally, are not making U. S. citizens, but you must read the whole 14 th, to know that.

yea right...I'm mexican myself and I definetely feel ashamed of my race! I live in Santa Ana, CA and this city if full of lazy mx's. All I see is non-working pregnant mexican "women" walking around with strollers and like 3-5 kids walking behind them. They should start opening up their eyes, and understand that this country is about becoming successful, and not about invading or to take advantage of government benefits.

They also make more babies in the U.S. than if they would have stayed in Mexico.

It is all about taking over the U.S. by making babies. Muslim extremists tell Muslims to use the same method to take over countries.

Mexicans also talk about killing white people to take over the U.S..

MEXICO: "WE'RE TAKING OVER CALIFORNIA".
"We are practicing La Reconquista in California."
– Jose Angel Pescador Osuna, Mexican consul-general, at Southwestern University School of Law.

"We have an aging white America. They are dying. They are sh----- in their pants with fear! I love it! We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him!"
– Jose Angel Gutierrez, political science professor at the University of Texas at Arlington.

""Go back to Boston! Go back to Plymouth Rock, Pilgrims! Get out! We are the future. You are old and tired. Go on. We have beaten you. Leave like beaten rats. You old white people. It is your duty to die ... through love of having children, we are going to take over."
– Augustin Cebeda, of the Brown Berets, at a rally in Los Angeles.

"California is going to be a Hispanic state and anyone who doesn't like it should leave."
– Mario Obledo, co-founder of the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund, or MALDEF in a radio interview on KIEV.

“The American Southwest "... seems to be slowly returning to the jurisdiction of Mexico without firing a single shot."
– Carlos Loret de Mola

Mexicans illegally come to the U.S. and have babies and then we allow them to become citizens. That just doesn't seem right to me. They also know the more babies they have, the fatter their government check will be.

We do keep this nation strong. But what we need to do is make Mexico strong so we can make it a just government and one day have Mexico extend all the way to the southern tip of Oregon. THATS what we need to do.
