Eat less and excercise more

Most Men need 2500 calories to keep their weight stable. Women 2200 calories.
Add 500 calories for every 5 pounds of lean muscle you gain by lifting weights.

Less what you need to maintain weight means you will lose some. More = weight gain.

The best thing to do is find a diet with a lot of flexability, and identify the foods that you should avoid. Then become more active in the gym, or as a sport.

It is a life long stuggle for a lot of people, but if you put up a good fight, mabye you wont be a swimsuit model, but you will enjoy a better quality of life than if you just let go.

The reason some people gain weight when they stop exercising is because of their diet. People who exercise vigorously and regularly require more calories. When they stop exercising and continue to consume high calories, they get fat.

There is no magic weight-loss pill, supplement, fad diet, or juice. The ONLY way to lose weight is to consume less calories than you burn. Brad Pitt didn’t get cut for Fight Club by drinking green tea, and you won’t either.

Walk for 30 minutes every day, including weekends, Mondays, and Fridays. Do at least 30 minutes of weight training each week. Do 60 minutes of additional, higher intensity cardio each week.

Cut back on the foods you eat with high fat and high sugar content. Eat only single servings (read the label) with less than 3 grams trans fat and 3 grams sugars. Throw out all of your ice cream, chips, cookies, cheese, fried foods, bacon, and candy.

Eat breakfast, and eat five small meals per day instead of three big meals. Don’t starve yourself during the day, but if you don't wake up famished, then you ate too much the day before. Stop eating at least two hours before you go to bed.

Get 6 to 8 hours of sleep every night. Turn off the TV and the computer. Sleep is vitally important.

Don't consume alcohol—alcohol is nothing more than empty calories with no nutritional value. Some people will argue that alcohol has some health benefits when consumed in moderation—I’m not debating that—but we’re talking about weight loss here. Lay off the booze if you want to lose the fat.

Drink lots of water, then drink more. Not tea, not Gatorade, not milk. Water. If your urine isn’t almost clear, you need to drink more water.

Good luck.

Well usually people who quit the gym usually stop working out all together so the body loses muscle thus turning into fat.

If you don't want to join a gym here are some of the following things you can do...

You can invest in a elliptical trainer or a treadmill or you can buy those workout balls.

If you don't want to spend any money whatsoever you can just take a jog outside or you can jumprope or dance to some music for like an hour a day.

Also you want to eat heatlhy..instead of drinking homo milk you can drink skim milk, you can make your own meals (not eat much fast food-since htey are not calorie friendly).

Hope that hleps.

The point is not to join the gym and then quit.

Nor should you eat right for awhile and then resume eating garbage.

You need a lifestyle change.

Exercise as a part of life.
Always.

Eat right as a way of life.
Not just until the pounds start leaving.

NO

I joined a gym and lost some weight (although not as much as I wanted)

Then I quit
And I still haven't gained back my weight.

The key thing is to watch your food...
If you join, then quit, then eat a whole lot of things that are not good for you, then you certainly will gain more than what you lost!

good luck
