READ 2 THESSELONIANS CHAPTER 2 Man of Lawlessness 1) Divine Position 2)Within visible church 3) will hang around till Judgement day 4) Counterfeit miracles (not actually doing them) Catholicism is tied to saints that can supposedly 'cure' you to stigmata, to statues supposely crying. The pope says he has power from the verse when Christ calls Peter the rock and on this rock I will build my church. In greek, (pie'ish symbol) ETPOS, is a rock you can hold in your hand, this is what Jesus says when refering to Peter, the other 'rock' (pie) ETP(alpha?) is bedrock stone, Better translation- Foundation is on Christ (supported elsewhere in scripture) He is the Rock of Salvation, that which gentiles stand on and is a stumbling block (stumble as in dashing to pieces beyond all repair in greek meaning) to the Jews...Even the Pope's attempt at securing his position is based on a false translation. How can you argue?

When the Pope speaks ex cathedra, he is said to have same footing as bibilical standing, and that is taking Christ's place (in regurads to one of the posts) most of what he says is contrary to scripture, especially in regurads to pennance which evolved into purgatory.

The only certain test for Anti-Christ is this one:
1Jo 2:22 Who is a liar, but he who denieth that Jesus is the Christ? This is Antichrist, who denieth the Father and the Son.
No Pope has ever denied that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, and the second divine person of the Holy Trinity.
The only false translations (and assumptions) are yours ... along with the patently false and cleverly crafted protestant faith traditions that you appear to embrace.

Antichrist is a false Christ, according to Matthew 24:24. He claims to be anointed by God with the Holy Spirit and claims to be qualified to do the work in God's name of redeeming God's people and renewing the creation. But he is not. He is a liar. His claims are false. He is a false Christ.
The Pope has never said he was Jesus so the Pope is not the antiChrist
God Bless You

I used to think so
But the pope does not behead people.
The pope does regard the beliefs of his fathers.
So wouldnt a muslim be a much better antiChrist figure?
They love to chop off heads
and they have rejected the faith of their predecessors by embracing Islam.
And Islam has a false Jesus who has the mission to kill all jews and Christians.

to assume that any particular world leader is the "man of darkness" especially the pope is asanine.there is no biblical indication that the pope is the antichrist.the only thing that i could see is that it says in the book of daniel that the man of sin will come from the city that destroyed jerusalem, but that doesnt mean this man is the pope.besides i dont think people will know who the antichrist is until the endtimes actually take place.

You know I'm Catholic and I'm supposed to believe all that stuff you wrote bout the pope that I didn't read. Haha... But I don't because I kind of believe what I want to believe. I don't think we should just stick to the rules. Yea yea I know you think Catholics are so strict and everything but its not that bad it isn't like you get excommunicated right when you do something wrong.

I don't think the pope is any type of "Christ". Just a man, with a shiny gold rolex, with a big ego.
