I use Ubuntu Linux it will partition the HDD and install as a dual boot. So, you still have your windows. Defrag first before installing to move windows into a nice close fit. I gave Ubuntu 26 GB on a 160 GB HDD. Thinking of just removing windows all together and do a full install of Linux.
Download the ISO file to your HDD. They have a CD Burner on the site called "Infra Recorder" something like that and it burn the ISO file to a Bootable CD. If, you just copy the file it not work.

Make sure you get Fedora 6. That is the most recent version of Linux. It is a thousand times better. It is free. You can download it off the Internet and install it. Follow the instructions closely, or you can order it on DVD.

yes it is called linux and it works just as good as the normal microsoft windows install. You see if computer people pre installed linux like they did windows it too would seamlessly interact with the computer but after market installed windows really sucks if only most people could see it. It took me 5 hours to install windows on a computer but on that same computer about 5 minutes later after tiring of windows i popped in linux and in 10 minutes i had a working linux computer.
