Because many of the southern native american tribes shared ancestry with northern mexican indian tribes. Look at it this way. Native American does not necessarily mean USA, it can accurately describe all natives NORTH americans, from the southern tip of Mexico to the northern span of Canada. Just as many of those in the middle east once shared a small gene pool, which has now grown exponentially and into nations of men and women, native americans have had the same experience, and that includes indians of Canada, Mexico and the USofA.
Plus, there are two types of Mexicans, Native, and European, just as until recent history there were pretty much two types of Americans (USA), Native and European. The native american tribes in the southern united states did not have a border where it lies today, the tribes of New Mexico, Texas, California, Nevada and Arizona (and so one) were absorbed by the United States as we annexed those parts of Mexico. Therefore, their natives (Mexicans not exposed to European bloodlines) in some cases will look similar to the natives of the usa. The Mayans and even more so the Aztecs seemed to have kept their communities a little closer and tighter, and were not as infiltrated as the other native american tribes.
I want to quickly add that my husband is Mexican, but he is not European in any way, his family can trace their roots to the Geronimo and the apache tribe. They are 100% Mexican, and 100% native American. His great grandparents never crossed the border, the border crossed them. One day they lived in Mexico, they never moved, never changed their location, and before they knew it, they had become Texans (yes, it was a nation before it was a state), then, still without moving, they became American citizens.

First thought on this matter is the fact that the brand of being called look a likes has procreation stamped all over the fact that races of people have lovers from another race. From the vantage point of known reality all races have that look a like syndrome going for them. What’s the problem, look at your own immediate family and then ask yourself what makes you any different regardless of your choice on accepting the truth for your statements.
Abandoning virtue is the end of sensibility. That is the legacy that all of society leaves for our children to build from, nothing to be proud of for we are the conduit of decay. Damn what a tangled web we weave.
The truth of the matter is that the population of Indians from the tip of South America to the northern borders of Canada rounds off at about 180,000,000. Do you think they all look the same and realize the same culture and if you do then try to figure outside the box and think how you came to your opinion? Now take the procreation factor and imagine how many more look a likes there would be without long term dilution through a business plan to dilute.
Reading history will educate you to the fact that in this country and other countries, natives eat and have eaten for centuries from the food supply of their homelands. Natives living on coast lines definitely gained their food supply from the ocean and plains Natives traditional food supplies were of the plains. Today much of the food supply comes from processed foods and we know how healthy all races are today from that source.
Now my question, since many people from around the world eat food supplies from the ocean, does that I’m sorry statement, but they look the same and they practice the same culture fit.. My answer is,we are born in the same fashion it’s the domination practice that makes people think they are different or superior to their co-inhabitants of planet earth nothing more nopthing less.

the Spanish and the American Indians, did mix , in the west mostly but not all the tribes by far, the Midwest the Eastern tribes like the Miami, out of Ohio, and others all the way up & down the Eastern sea board, and Midwestern states, and they mixed a lot with the Indians, that already lived in Mexico,; their should be no shame about who your ancestors, joined with, it's a little late for that anyways. about all Mexicans being native, Americans not quite true, because many mixed with the tribes of Mexico and not with the tribes in the U.S. so their not Native Americans but Native Mexican Indians!

About 70% of the Mexican population are mestizos, that is, they have both European (mostly Spanish) and Native American ancestry. The exact proportions will vary.
Nearly 30% of Mexicans are indigenous or Native Americans.
There are small but significant numbers of Mexicans who can trace their ancestors to African origin (or a combination of African-European or African-Indigenous). An even smaller percentage of Mexicans are of Asian origin.

Because some have native indian (azteca) in them. Which is exactly why Mexicans DO have a claim for this land, the colonists did a great job in eliminating the natives of the Americas so it would only be fair that to say that Mexicans would have a claim to the land if it was given back to the Natives. I'm not saying it should, but if you consider it, it seems logical.
Leaha if you mean your family is fighting in Iraq, please, with all of your heart and soul try to convince them to Cease when their duty is over with. They are being used for the sick and greedy purposes of big oil and other big corporations who won't care if your family dies fighting as long as they get their big prize, more oil. What does it matter? The oil will be gone in 50 years any way. PLEASE get your family out of there, you aren't fighting for america, you are fighting for people like donald trump. The elite.
By the way people indigenous mexicans are in AMERICA THE CONTINENT, THEREFORE, THEY ARE NATIVE AMERICANS. Did you guys sleep in history class, or did you read a typical history book changed to suit the U.S?

Because they are more Native to this country than us White folks are. Sorry all you haters out there, but that's just the truth. A tremendous portion of this country used to BE Mexico. It also used to the Cherokee Nation, the Lakota Nation, the Sioux Nation, the Apache Nation, etc. until White people took it upon themselves to round everyone up & kick them off in the name of God & freedom of religion.
