Why bother with detox if you're going to poison yourself anyway?

Why do you need to lower your blood level?

Detoxing From Cigarettes

You can do anything you want while on a ten day detox body cleanser.

But since smoking does add toxins to your body, you're wasting the $20-$50 you just spent on your detox. Maybe not completely wasting it, because it might help clean out your other toxins (as long as you don't drink or eat fast food on the detox, either) so I guess you can still smoke.

But I'd suggest quitting smoking before doing a detox, or you aren't getting your full dollar worth!

No, you can't do a detox while you keep adding drugs to your system by smoking. So don't waste your money on the detox if you're going to be smoking.

FYI, I quit 6 years ago and find I get less annoyed now than I did when I smoked...

I think therapy is the next step - you do need to smoke, but you and your partner do not need to live with your family's current attitudes for the rest of your natural life. I guess that's something detox has given you. Unexpected, but worth getting rid of, instead of avoiding. You can always quit later, and surprise your family. Now is now the time - you have greater dragons to defeat. They might not even know that you don't appreciate how they see you here and now. If it's only family, the world is wide, if you apply for a passport. And someday they will have to accept that you can now diaper yourself, and pay your way : ) Get real - hopefully others see you differently, of their choice.
