that the carnivorous cannibal is an involuntary omnivore?

Let me simplify it even further for you. By nature, canines are carnivores. Yet my dog grazes on grass occaisionally, when outside in the yard. Is this due to some "hereditary trait" -- from when wolves would consume the stomach-content of herbivores? Thus explaining why some dogs today feel the urge to eat grass?

I ask this here, because this is an un-official evolution forum, of course.

Cannibals do not eat ONLY members of their species, only sometimes. If you eat just one human in a lifetime, you are still a cannibal. And, for example, a female black widow spider is considered to be a cannibal for eating the male after sex, however, female black widows spiders eat a lot of things that are not male black widow spiders.

Carnivores do not eat only meat, just primarily meat. A carnivore can eat a plant a day and still be a carnivore, as long as it eats mostly meat. Carnivores just don't digest plant matter very well, so that matter passes through their body digested poorly. It isn't really about choice, it's about what the body is set up to digest. In fact, wikipedia even says that carnivores intentionally eat the digestive systems and dung of animals in order to get nutrition. These are still considered carnivores.

According to Wikipedia about the diet of a carnivore: "In most cases, some plant material is essential for adequate nutrition, particularly with regard to minerals, vitamins and fiber. Most wild carnivores consume this in the digestive system of their prey. Many carnivores also eat herbivore dung, presumably to obtain essential nutrients that they could not otherwise obtain, since their dentition and digestive system do not permit efficient processing of vegetable matter."

So a person (or animal) could still be a carniverous cannibal while accidentally eating produce inside another animal's stomach. Not to mention that the stomach itself is still meat...disgusting, chewy, acid-filled meat.

So a carniverous cannibal is a person or animal who is digestively set up to eat primarily meat, and sometimes eats other members of its own species. It does not matter if it eats members of other species, or if it occasionally eats plants or plant matter in the stomach of another animal. It does not change what is, and does not change it from a carniverous cannibal to an omnivore.

Also, dogs may, in fact, be omnivores. Their digestive system is a little complicated, probably because by domesticating dogs, we have bred them to eat different things than they would naturally. Check out the link below.

Don't worry--you're still a carniverous cannibal, despite the accidental ingestion of green matter. Rest assured.

Predators don't eat the stomach. They are not very nutritious, and the acid can be very harmful.

But, if they did, they would be.
