1. I'd never do that, I have too much respect for the brave men and women who have died to keep America free.

2. I wouldn't mind doing that, particularly if I was cold and in need of a heat source. It's not something I have done as I do not like or believe in burning books (no matter what I think of the contents).

3. See above.

4. Not something I want to happen!

1-3) They're symbols. Go buy one of these items and light it up if it makes you feel better. The irony with flags is that when a flag is beyond repair, then by flag ettiquite standards you're suppose to burn it in private. And regarding #2 and #3, sensible religious folks have told me that it's "the word", not the pages, that matter.

4) That's NOT a symbol. And it's mine. So it's not the same as burning some privately-owned object in your back yard. So no, burning my house is not OK. If you want to take a picture of my house then burn the photo, fine.

1) I dont care. Its a piece of cloth. It doesnt mean anything to me. Although I think there are more intelligent things one could do with a flag than burning it.

2) Dont care either, although again, there are more intelligent things one could do with a Bible than burning it. For example, it could be recycled or read or given to someone who wants it.

3) See above answer.

4) Id rather someone didnt burn my home, and I might be a little angry. But honestly, I'd find the silver lining, which would be a chance to start everything off from scratch and make another home for myself. It wouldnt be that bad as long as no-one got hurt.

Mind if I ask why you asked that?

1.) It's the only respectful way to get rid of a damaged flag. If it's a matter of political protest, it is covered under the "free speech" part of our Constitution.
2.) I don't like the idea of burning books, it has connotations of censorship.
3.) See above.
4.) I'd prefer this not happen, as I haven't taken out renter's insurance and I have some pets that aren't fireproofed.

1. It's just some fabric (you can be american without a flag.)
2. It's just paper
3. It's still just paper
4. It's where I live and the shelter over my head. I would rather have my home than a couple books and a big piece of colored fabric.

4 and 1 are disrespectful. I couldn't care less about 2 & 3.

PEACE!

Depends on why? If that is your only way to avoid freezing to death and you have nothing else to burn, then it's OK.
Otherwise, what do these things mean to you and what are you trying to prove or demonstrate by burning them?
