It takes a lot of faith to believe. I would rather believe in going to heaven than not to believe. If I believe and find out that it is not true ---What have I really lost ---nothing. But if I do not believe and it is true -- then I have lost everything!

The only way you can know for sure is by studying the bible. The Bible mentions that their are 144,000 that will go to heaven and the meek ones themselves will possess the earth.
Psalms 37:9,11,29: "Evildoers themselves will be cut off, but those hoping in God are the ones that will possess the earth...The meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.
Rev.14:1-3 "I saw, and look! the Lamb [Jesus Christ] standing upon the Mount Zion [in heaven] ; see Hebrews 12:22-24, and with him a 144,000 having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads....And they are singing as if a new song...and no one was able to master that song but the 144,000, who have been bought from the earth. Matthew 22:14 regarding the Kingdom of the heavens: "There are many invited, but few chosen.
Rev. 21:1-4: "I saw a new heaven and a new earth...I heard a loud voice from the throne say: "Look! God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
144,000 will go to heaven and a small crowd will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it. And they will delight in the abundance of peace. Read Rev. 14:1-10, Only 144,000 taken from earth to Heavenly life. and Rev. 20:12, others raised for life on earth. Hope this was beneficial.

I know for sure I'm going to Heaven because I have been saved and received new life.I once was a worm but now am a butterfly.Totally transformed from what I was before into who I am today. Before I was lost and helpless never knowing which was the right way to go.But because Jesus saved me I now have new hope, new life,a brand new beginning where everything before I was saved no longer exists. The old me is dead along with my sins. The new me is alive and the Holy Spirit has delivered me from the grip sin had over me and guids me with an everlasting love into safe pastures where no wolf will devour me because my Lord and Savior is with me forever faithful and protecting. My eyes are open and I see through new ones and everything about life has taken on a whole new perspective.Because of this I know my place is not of this world but is in Heaven with my adoring Father.Heaven in essence is already a part of me,I feel it and know it.

First I have convinced myself through careful examination of the world around me and my own sense of morality that something made me and the universe.
Once I acknowledge that a perfect being created everything, the next step is logical, as this being has given me His revelation in the books of the Bible.
Hence,
A perfect being created me.
A perfect being delivered writings of His expectations.
Those expectations describe an eternity beyond this life.
Since this being is perfect and therefore cannot lie, these writings must also be perfectly true.
Where will I end up when I die?
If I adopt a Calvinist approach to the Scriptures, the answer is quite satisfying. God's elect were chosen before the world began, and the elect will be gathered by God. The elect will not be able to resist God's grace.
In short, using a Calvinist interpretation the whole notion of John 3:16 only applies to those God has foreordained to be saved. This means that Christ did not come to save everyone, only the elect chosen by God on whom He decided to have mercy. The five principles of Calvinism are easily remembered by the acronym, TULIP: Total depravity, Unconditional Election, Limited atonement, Irresistible grace, Perseverance of the saints.
How does one know if he or she is one of the elect? We don't! Instead we are urged to keep God's commandments, live righteous lives seeking to please God, claim the promise of Christ's sacrificial as atonement for the elect's sins, and pray continuously that His mercy falls upon us as one of His elect.
Some may say that a Calvinistic theology is unfair since God's grace is not open to all. But one reply to this is that God will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. That is His right as the Creator of everything. "Shall the pot say to the potter, why have you made me thus?"
There is another view interpreted within Calvinism that expands the concept of the elect to everyone, making John 3:16 more universally applicable.

Catholic Christian here:
The book we have, the bible, is a collection of inspired writings and letters assembled for the faithful. It records the accounts of Jesus' teachings which we received from the Apostles. This is how we understand our ultimate spiritual destiny.
Do I know where I will ultimately end up? Yes - one of two places: heaven or hell. I pray I will die in a state of grace and enter the joy of heaven, because I also know that I could lose my faith if I am not careful and go to my eternal death.

Actually Christian beliefs did not come from a book. They came from the lips of Jesus Christ, God in the flesh. These beliefs were later mentioned by the apostles in some of their correspondence and other writings, and still later - about three centuries later - some of these writings were bound into a book. However, the book was not the source of the beliefs. Everything in the Bible had already been taught for many years by the Church Christ founded before any of it was written down.

Word of advise pal... stop smoking weed. It ain't good for ya. I know I will go to heaven because I have faith in God. I am a sinner just as much as we all are. The important thing is we ask forgiveness and really mean it. If, however, on judgement day God decides to cast me to hell... I probably deserve it. Doesn't mean I wouldn't believe and have faith in Him at that moment. The just get their reward and the wicked get punished. That "book" is the source of faith for millions of believers. Try reading and contemplating on it. God bless you.

the holy spirit works faith in our hearts. Ours is a sure hope (not in the sense that we're not sure, we know that it will happen) 1 Corinthians 1:18For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (as for the calvanist's remark, there is no such thing as double predestination. Just predestination, but a person can reject the word (like a person can decide to jump from a building, but they can't decide to hope right back on again) Christ came to save all- Universal Justification. The Holy Spirit works through your heart to give you faith, and you can reject it. It's as if someone put a million $ in everyone's bank account, you can accept that it's there, or not, and never use it.

Jesus own words tell us so. We don't have a DVD or CD from back then. We have the only way of mass communication...The Bible. Jesus did die. It's a Biblical and historical fact. But, Jesus rose from the dead. Death couldn't hold Him. Many people saw Him and heard Him after He had died and was buried. In front of witnesses, Jesus rose back to Heaven. He told the people that upon His return to earth people will come back to life and rise to Heaven just as He did. People will be changed then,. They won't be old, sickle, in pain, etc.. They will be perfect.

I would call it the spirit world and not heaven. I believe because of personal witnesses from prayer and the Holy Ghost, and besides that, my father had a near-death experience 2 years ago after having a stroke, and he saw at least one of our relatives when she had died and could describe her in detail, even though he hadn't seen her in years and he didn't even know she had died when he was in the coma. He wasn't allowed to remember everything though, so it's still back to faith for most of us. Have a happy day, and I send you a gummy bear.
