has she fly before? i fly frequently, many times i've met mothers with irritable babies, probably they're not used to the cabin pressures, that's why they creid alot, and i've also seen many very quiet babies, they're happy with a few of their favourite toys, the mother just lay a piece of cloth near her seat, when he's tired he just goes to sleep on the cloth beside her seat. feed your baby some water during take off & landing to equalise the preasure in the eardrum, & birngs along his favourite pillow, toys etc,,

I assume since she is under 2 that you will not be buying her a seat of her own. When at the airport, ask to be given a bulkhead seat, which are saved for airport check-in for small children and handicap. This will give you extra floor space for her to play or sleep on and also extra room for all the stuff you have to drag around with you with a baby. Take anything that keeps her occupied. The "white noise" on a plane will put her quickly to sleep. Have a nice flight. Enjoy your baby.

Ok...lemme share from my experiences, plus few tips from friends who work as flight attendants.

1. Baby Bassinet? If yes, choose bulkhead seats. No?? Then go for any other seats in preference. My experience says that at the bulkhead seats you can't remove the armrest, while they keep flying up and down in normal seats. So, if baby wants to lie down on the seat with head on your lap...you know what I mean
2. Give baby the bottle or the breast during take-off & landing. It should keep her/him relaxxxed!
3. Heating up the baby bottle?? If you're asking the crew to do that for you, please check the temperature of the liquid yourself. My friends say they're too to busy to stand by the bottle! Your baby is your responsibility, yes?
4. Carry a change of clothes for the infant. It's quintessential, and for you as well!

I'll be glad if this helps!

Have a book with you so that you can read to your baby. Have baby toys, blanket, and you would like to have as much room for the baby to lay in. I know from experience that the airlines call people that have children and disabilities to board first to give them time to get settle. Good luck.

You don't have to purchase an airline ticket for her if she is under 2 however if you can afford it, definately purchase a seat for her. Than you don't have to hold her the entire time and you can keep her on the seat next to you.
