we love everyone, but don't love their evil behaviors. we can love a thief or a liar, but not love his/her actions.

Hi.
I cannot answer for all Christians. I can answer for myself as a Christian, so here goes, I see "gay" people now mind you that I have worked in a salon for 20 plus years--started when I was 6 ok...lol so I see gay people maybe a bit different than others because I actually was blessed to know and work with "gay" people. anyways I see "gay" people just as I see any other person, just like I see myself--- a sinner. Not one person on this earth can really be judgmental against another unless they are without sin and as I understand and know only God is without sin.........!

From what I have experienced in a close family, it all depends on the amount of love the Christian has for the person. Even very very religious people have turned around on their ideas about gay people when they find out it's a child or teenager they love!!True Story!! @8-)

I agree 100% with "urtelnme's" post, and I am in agreement based on personal experience. With family Christians it can be fairly pleasant, but there is still that underlying condemnation that often goes unsaid. You can just feel it the air. With other Christians it depends upon their personality and their conviction.
Some won't say a thing, but you still get that I want to save your soul feeling. Then there are the proselytizing Christians...phew they are the worst.

Usually in a hotel room when nobody's looking.
Oh wait, I think you meant "see" as in "view".
It really depends on the sect. Some don't care, in fact I've known some gays and lesbians who considered themselves Christian. Others like Fred Phelps quite clearly consider them vermin that should be executed. Then other sects try ambigiously dancing around the issue with phrases like "hate the sin, love the sinner".

I do not know how other people see gays but I see them with my eyes. I am Christian and i doubt that anyone is perfect and has any right to say who is the most screwed up regardless of orientations and ideologies. I prefer to focus on improving myself as I am the only person I can change. Jesus taught me to be kind to all people.

Christians should see gay people as people made in the image of God and shown the respect they deserve as such. To disagree with the morality of the actions of another person is not to reject that person.

Well, to lay with another man as a man - or to lay with another woman as a woman is a big "No no" in the Christian religion. Most christians who are TRUE Christians accept them and love them as any other people even though they may not agree with their lifestyle....... Now, Christianity is a BROAD description for different "Denominations" of Christian Religions....... Catholics would certainly NOT accept this in ANY way..... Certain more strict like Baptist, Methodist and especially Menonites would probably shun homosexuals........... The bible says we should not judge people and yet we often spend most of our time doing just that.
I belong to what you would call a Non-Denominational Church....
Now living in Tucson, AZ - I used to attend Jubile Christian Center in California (one of the largest churches in the US now) you can see more at (Jubilee.org) and also "attend church" online if you prefer................ It is a wonderful group of people and the pastor of the church is actually a family member of mine......
Now, In our church, we WELCOME people from all walks of life. I even recall as a child - a group our church had invited to atend with us (a satonist group that was considering converting and wanted the opportunity to learn more about God.....) We accepted them with open arms......... Now - I am not comparing your sexuality to "Satonism" or anything. Just givng you an example......
I am a Christian woman and I am still working on my faith. Admittedly, I have fallen once or twice and have experimented with a woman before as well as enjoying the ultimate sin of sodomy........ Which is just as bad of a sin whether you are straight or not. Some people don't realize that. Even making love to your partner while on your period is a huge sin as well - but like I said many Christians ignore these facts as well..........
Many people may respond to you with hateful comments and claim that Christians would hate or reject you - although I sincerly hope not. The truth is that a TRUE CHRISTIAN would not judge you no matter what they may think or feel about your personal preference.........
Just know that being Homosexual does not mean that God does not love you and accept you - even if he dissagrees with your lifestyle....... Anymore than he'd dissagree with me for laying with my fiance' every night even though our wedding day is not until May............. Know what I mean? Please don't let this keep you from persuing God, attending Church, opening your heart and being Christian............. It doesn't stop me!!!
None of us are perfect...............
I am chalk full of "Sins" if ya know what I mean............
Let me know if you want to talk or have me further elaborate (not preach) just elaborate - if you ave any questions.
I sincerly hope I answered your question.
Thanks,
Meg
