If boiling water killed germs then every health proffessional would use boiling water to kill germs of their instruments, they wouldn't buy sterilizers so expensive. The liquids I'll describe are also good enough but they would be way too expensive for health proffessionals to use and besides, they take too long to achieve what a sterilizer achieves in less than two hours.
If you have some clorhexidine, then pour some in a small bowl or cup (just enough to cover your little brush) and leave it all night long (or at least six hours). No real need to rinse the brush afterwards.
If you don't have clorhexidine, then you may use some sodium hypochlorine (or chlorine or the deinfectant used on vegetables). Pour about five drops of it into 250 ml of water (about a cup or glass of water) and leave your brush all night long in it (at least six hours as well). Next day you should rinse pretty well your brush (about thirty to sixty seconds in running water is enough).
Then it'll be cleaner than when you first took it out of its original case.
Regards, Lifeguard.

I've heard to clean toothbrushes you are supposed to put them in boiling water. I'm not sure for how long though.

HOT HOT water. I rinse mine under hot water for a few seconds after using it. If you have that sanitizing hand soap, wash it with that and rinse well. Try soaking it in hydrogen peroxide, too.

Swish it around in some Listerine mouth wash. That will sanitize it.
