Nephi 5:21-23:

"And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them."

I don't personally think blacks are cursed. The verse you are referring to was describing what happened to Laman and Lemuel and their descendants in the Book of Mormon. If you start studying archaeology, you will find there were peoples of varying skin tones in South and Central America. However, skin color is not important to the Lord. In this case it was a distinguishing mark to differentiate between those who wanted to keep God's commandments and those who did not, and later on another prophet, Jacob, told the people not to "revile" (i.e. criticize) the Lamanites because of their darkness, because at least they were faithful to their families more so than the Nephites were at that time. What is more important to God is personal obedience and worthiness. Have a happy day, and I send you a multi-colored gummy bear.

The Mormons I know say that they don't believe Blacks are cursed. The Book of Mormon is supposed to be about Native Americans. But they don't seem to think that Native Americans are cursed either.

The original Mark on Cains forehead was given because God had to separate the children of satan through Cain from the sons of Adam who obeyed God. Eventually Most of the sons of Adam chose to LOVE Satan MORE.
it would not be fair to judge an entire race according to the color of their skin, but according to their faith, all mankind are forgiven and redeemed. but if people become more exceedingly wicked than Cain, then the same curse should come upon them.
Even NOAH cursed Hams children: to call them slaves of slaves.

i personaly have to admit that i believe this and it has to be the predominate EXPLANATION as to why there are More than one color of races, seeing if the bible is true that all mankind came from Adam and Eve whatever Color they were! They were one color.
In the book of revelation, HOLY angles are clothed in "white" as a symbol of purity. whereas on earth, the color of witchcraf covens and Satan worship happens to be BlAck. as a symbol of rebellion or in other circles as gothic and even as a color of Mourning.
but I wonder at the thought, if God will Mark people with dark skin or whether if dark skin is genetically inherited from Wandering in the sun?
I also wonder if God does curse men with dark skin to show geneaology and ancestry, I ponder the thought that in the resurrection SKIN COLOR can be changed from WHITE TO BLACK as a fulfilment of the Curse of NOAH, that the most wicked white men will be made black as a punishment in their resurrected body. But if that were true also Then Black people who are more righteous might be given Lighter skin to show that they are no longer considered a slave.

Of course this is all conjecture on my part.

the fact remains that Moses married an ethiopian woman, even when mixxing race and religious geneaology was prohibited.
Some people teach that the reason Noah was saved from the flood was because his practice of keeping pure was beyond reproach. But when he had a child of Black skin he Wanted to refuse it as his own. But accordingly God told him to Keep Him.
It may not have been Noahs child, it may have been Ham's child who KNEW Noah's nakedness and possilbly His wifes nakedness too.

not everything that is true is verily true. and not all things rejected are a lie.
