There is a guy friend I like. I have met up with him a couple of times as friends, but I set up both meetings. He initiated physical contact on both those meetings: kissing, hugging, holding hands.

On Wednesday morning SMS'd him and told him I liked him and wanted to "go out" but it didn't have to be exclusive (I think it's too early for exclusivity). In the afternoon I rang him and he said his response was positive (he did NOT say he liked me too), and then asked me when and where I wanted to go out.

He is happy to talk on the phone when I ring, and agrees to meet up when I arrange it.

Why doesn't he ring me, or be the one to make the arrangements?

Could it be too soon for him? His last relationship ended just before Christmas.

When you told him that you didn't think that it should be exclusive, then that told him that you weren't really into him and that he'd better not push it or you might just cut him off. That's what I would think, and I wouldn't initiate many calls either, in the fear that I would piss you off or "bother" you and you'd get tired of me. If you like him more than you're letting on, and want to be exclusive then you'll have to let him know or get used to having to be the one to initiate everything.

Like the famous book...hes just not that into you......I wouldnt push this guy....He really sounds like someone who is going to use you and you will be the willing participant in it because all the signs are there that he just isnt that into you....Im sorry Im not one of those nasty people who bashes people and usually look on the bright side but this guy just doesnt seem that interested but is thinking maybe he will have sex with you ...Im not saying hes a bad person, he just isnt having the same feelings as you so he may think you think the same way...The thing you said about "it doesnt have to be exclusive" implies you are okay with a casual relationship and you allowed him to kiss you etc.....and then said what you did about it being non exclusive..You actually gave him signals to say casual relationship and sex is what you want......Since I dont think you do want this and want this to be an exclusive relationship you need to tell him so because You have given him mixed signals....good luck!

could be that he just lets the girl decide. my ex used to do the same thing i used to be the one that rang him and decided everything, he told me that he was never really a phone person or a person that decided things that was just how he is. Could be the guy you like is the exact same way. Just go with the flow and see how that goes

Hmm. Maybe he's just passive. Ask him!

You'll find that asking your partner is a pretty neat relationship trick. They know, we only guess.
