And if it is not, then should the people who led us into the war have forseen that that the majority of Americans would not be persuaded by the argument for the war?

At the time the war started, it's a safe bet Bush had the support of 99.9% of all Americans. Unfortunately Bush didn't attack the perpetrators of 9/11, he attacked Iraq instead.

Had it been Osama Bin Laden's neck in that noose instead of Saddam, the blogbaba might be a Republican today. As it is, the support of the American people may be irrelevant, it's really not as if pulling out of Iraq is going to stop the war. Consider it a tactical redeployment, believe me, it's not close to over, and I don't see a way of ending it other than an invasion of Iran or a surrender.

I am glad it's not my decision to make.

17 Republican legislators broke ranks and voted for the non-binding resolution in the house today. Without taking a stand HERE either way (and I have taken a stand) that is a very strong statement non-binding or not. Some major anchors express shock at the low number of defectors. American support for this war will not climb; no way. Even if the Iraqis should unite and rise up to meet their conquerors in combat we will appear the bad guys on the inter-national scene. We are in a lose-lose situation with more of my military comrades dying every day. RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!

They believed Bush, only to find out everything he said was a lie! Now he has been in a war for 4 years that we know had nothing to do with 9/11 nor were terrorist, as he also knew...BEFORE the war!

I think the last election should give you some clue about what issue is at the forefront. We threw out 2 incumbent Republican congressmen in my state, which is conservative!

The American people are tired of body bags coming home everday for 4 years while things got WORSE in Iraq daily!

What other argument's do you have? That you cut VA hospitals 2 times, the 1st by 100 Billion while giving tax cuts to the rich!

That you ran up a 3 1/2 TRILLION dollar deficit that we have to pay back?

All you have proven is the only answers you have is to soak us, kill our kids, and give the rich all of our money!

Some legacy!

This war HAD the support of the majority of the American people
but that support was given on the foundations of the information that was given as facts that proved to be false !! And, rather than face up to that and make any moves of corrective actions at all--the very people who engineered the beginnings of the war have clammered for reasonings for it ever since and continued to lie about when and how we would be Done with it all !! Now. people have began to see that it is an unending self-perpetuating event that is bogging down deeper and deeper into an abyss !!
So, this war had it's day of support by the majority----Now, however that day is done !!

I don't agree with it and never have from the beginning. Don't get me wrong, I served in Iraq for 1 1/2 and I didn't see any reason to be there. The oil was the main reason. All the soldiers are getting killed for nothing and fighting a no winning war. I can't count how many times we as soldiers was asking each other what is the point of being here.

there's been a real failure on the part of the administration to put out their own propaganda for the war. the other side has been doing it since before we even invaded. i think if there had been more of an effort in this area, more people would be more supportive.

i know that most people i know only really "know" what the media has told them- that we're losing. this in turn has made them angry at the president, and the way he's handled the war. most of the people i know want to withdraw our troops so we can start bombing Iraq. they think the war has been mismanaged, and want to win.

the final public of yankee's are incredibly ignorant on the subject of the certainly difficulty(s) in Iraq. very few have better than a information taught practise that's critically one sided. Me, i think of that there would be one million deaths if we withdrew on the instant and then we'd be sent lower back in interior a year. i decide to end the conflict quickly, yet i choose victory via a robust Iraq which would be secured via its own forces. i've got seen progression, decide to work out greater.

This war is not acceptable, but has gained enough support.

"This war is not acceptable, but has gained enough support." because people are patriots and only do it to support the troops.
