i'm sick of being depressed and lately it's been really bad. all i seem to do is sleep and cry and i can't snap out of it. what do you do when you're sad? and please don't say something stupid like play video games or "watch a funny movie" that doesn't work for me anymore. thanks.

get yourself out of the house and do something different - go to the movies or go to a museum.... join a team of some sort - play a social sport - go to bingo for a laugh, learn how to horse ride , learn how to ride a motor bike, scrapbooking, do a course in something interesting, not necessaraly career related. You need to pull yourself out of a slump and you can only do it by having something that you like and enjoy doing.... something different. You poor little love - i was on medication for depression for a while and didn;t want to leave the house other than to go to work and go to collage. eventually i woke up to myself and started thinking i have got to make things that i will leave the house for and have fun doing it - no body will want to be my freind if i mope around all day. where do you live and how old r u?

The best thing to do is talk to your Doctor. Medication will help. But the most important thing you can do is get out of the house, even to just walk around the mall. Being inside all the time is very depressing. Do yard work, get out into the sunshine. Sunlight is supposed to help depression.

It sounds to me as if you are clinically depressed and need to get on a prescription. I was the same as you, wanted to do NOTHING, not even go to dinner with friends, cried over everything, had little or no motivation to do anything but sulk.......... it's VERY, VERY, common so please don't be ashamed or afraid to discuss this with your doctor, it's a chemical imbalance in your brain. Taking medication for depression is just like taking antibiotics for an infection, it's something that you need to do to stay healthy. Please don't be afraid to do this!!!

Seems someone has a broken heart here!!!
Go out and take some fresh air. This will not make your sadness go away but it will make you fell better. Being alone will help a start, but do get out with some friends afterwards.
One thing don't enclose yourself in your room!!

Take up a hobby that you xan do alone or with other people. I took up photography and it's given me a new lease of life. Suicide no longer seems like the only option.
Stay safe
