there is a guy in our school who claims to be gay, but constantly makes it a point to grope girls. he has dated girls recently to "cover it up" and he says his mom doesn't even know he is gay. he is in band, and plays clarinet, sax, and flute -and for that matter basically any other instrument. he tries to have sleepovers with girls, ones i've even been at. any idea?

GIRL YES HE IS!!! First, he claims to be gay. What straight guy will claim to be gay??!!...I'm sure he dates girl to cover up because maybe he is not ready to come out to his family.

Actually, it sounds to me like he's straight, and claiming to be gay for two reasons:
1. Being gay is kind of the in thing right now.
2. Girls will let a gay guy get close to them, because he won't treat them like crap, or break their heart, and will do girly things with them, and what's a better way to get close to girls than to do girly things and be non-threatening?

Well, it sounds like he uses being gay as a tool to get girls to be close and comfortable with him. However, I have several gay friends, and it is not uncommon for them to be touchy-feely, or even flirtacious with the opposite sex. The best way to find out is to find out if he has ever been intimate with another guy. Even guys who are comfortable with their sexuality are unlikely to go that far into posing as a gay guy just to attract girls.

sounds like he wants to be one of the girls,but is frustrated that he is in the "wrong" body.
groping girls sounds like a cry of desperation to hide his confusion and try and be what others see him as,ie a young man.
with all the hormones raging this is a stressful time for him and could lead to more serious and hurtful behavior.
