recruit,

what the heck are you thinking ?? if i could meet you i would i.t. you just for asking this question. this is what you need to work on BEFORE recruit training..... 18 minute 3 mile, 20 pullups, and 100 sit ups in two minutes. shoot for like a 17 minute 3 mile and 23 pullups and an easy 100 situps in a little over a minute. if you do that you will be a pt stud. swim all you can, and yeah study your knowledge. i don't know where you got that you have to be hercules before you go to basic but your wrong. knowledge wise get the basics get your general orders, marine corps history and it wouldn't hurt to get some uniform items down. like where to where your rank and how to roll sleeves. also ask your recruiter or a marine to teach you how to march, that will be your golden ticket to success in the first weeks of training. go there and be the best you can and sound off and move fast and you will be fine. as far as m16a2 knowledge, they will teach you that when you go up north. and go 0311 because thats the best mos in the marine corps. semper fi and good luck if you want to email me for help its here murray2801@yahoo.com

Unless your an elite athlete, you're overdoing it. I suggest first concentrating on passing the IST. Once you do that, work on the Marine Corps PT test. After you pass that, work on maxing the PT test. Then, take it from there. Your recruiter should have access to a poster that shows all the parts of an M-16. He might be able to get an actual rifle, but it would be a huge amount of red tape for him.

Don't hold your breath for the NBC chamber. They'll just keep you in there until you have to breath, and then you'll just suck it in. I breathed it in for 10 minutes, so you should e able to handle a few seconds. Just make sure your mask is fitted and sealed properly before you go it, so you don't breathe it in for ten minutes.

maybe you should seek the advice of a nutritionist on that diet you are considering and...well as far as your goals you set, that is really up to you and how often you are able to work out.

sure you can run 27 miles at one time
no way 530 push-ups or 815 sit-ups at one time
maybe the pull-ups
i doubt the bench of 345lbs unless you are already near that weight
likely to squat 315lbs
2650 squats at one time...where did you get that number?!
you will be in the hospital by time you get to the up-downs if you are trying to do all of these exercises in a row.

all you have to do is talk to your recruiter and ask him what are the requirements and try and out do those. i am 100% positive there are no require ments to do no 815 sit-ups or 530 push ups at one time. maybe throughout the day...but that's a different story.

I don't believe it is possible to over do it. Keep in close contact with your recruiter, he should be able to help you to get ready. To do what you say you wanna do within a year is gonna take alot of work and dicipline. I would be very careful with the no sugar thing. The body needs some sugars (lots of fruits, ect) to function like it needs to. If you don't get enough you will end up becomming diabetic which would hamper your career greatly. Some sugar from a candy bar here and there could very well give you a boost and help you instead of hurt you, just be moderate about it.

Adam, all I can tell you is God Bless you for your Courage and Patriotism in your desire to serve your Country. Amongst all the Political Bullshit you are who truly matters my friend. I am proud of you and honored to have the chance to say thank you for being what makes this Country great.
As far as advice, I'll just ask that you stay focussed on the big picture and your purpose out there, stay alert, and ignore the ******* back home who offer you halfass support.
I tried to join the Marines out of High School but I had a History of Cancer therefore they rejected me. I'd be proud to fight side by side with you. Go with God.

It's a waste of time. You may be fit and cut when you get there but when you leave all the muscle will be gone. All the stress will make you loose a lot of mass. I was a cross country runner and wrestler before i joined the corps. I went to boot camp with 165lbs of muscle and came out 130lbs of skin. So wait till you get out of boot and MCT or SOI then start working out to achieve your goals.

Motivated is right on 108 pull ups is way off and I'm sure the rest is too. Little more advice, learn how to Iron, do laundry, and never never lose your cover or buy extras. OH one more thing I almost forgot, practice holding your breath (for the gas chamber) and never volunteer for anything.
