I e-filed last week and turbo-tax said I'd receive a conformation e-mail within 48, which I did-but I didn't check my e-mail for a few days, (we moved and had no net access!) Is it too late to send it in since it's been more than 1 business day? Do I need to do something else?

Please don't worry about it---you do NOT have to send it in immediately! I think it said on the H & R Block website that you had 2 weeks to send it in but it really does not delay your refund in any way if you take longer. My son was suppose to send one in last year, and for some reason forgot to print it out and do it, and then about 9 months later, the IRS sent him a reminder notice that he had not done it, and actually mailed him a duplicate 8453 form to fill out and send in. The letter said something like that if he did not send it in, it may jeopardize his chances the next year of being able to efile. You only have to fill it out if you don't rememeber your AGI from the previous year--it's really a security measure that it is you filing your taxes.

So--please don't worry about and just send it in when you get a chance so they can have it on file.

Go ahead and send it in, but don't be worried.......I forgot to send mine in when I filed in 2004 and was not penalised for it. the 8453 is basically just a form that says you agree to the tax forms filed. Don't worry at all

Just send it in. Sending it late might delay your refund by a couple of days but that's about it.
