Ryan is right. Ares works better than Limewire. I use both however, but Ares is my favourite.
Now if you are into albums, then a bittorrent programme works best.
Go here: http://www.zeropaid.com for lots of info on file sharing programmes. Read some of the forum comments about various programmes and what is good and bad about each. Then you will have some working info to make a decision.

i use Ares Ultra.....ive used everything under the sun........limewire gives u false files, bearshare has no network, winmx...that program died days after it was out.....e-mule...good to download from if u wanna age 8 yrs b4 ur song is done...i could go on and on........Ares Ultra gives me what i want w/o the bs files, i get more seeders, and it doesnt run strickly off java like limewire...which means that i can go browse and not slow down to a snails pace if im downloading 30 songs and 5 movies at the same time...........

LimeWire rules. If you wanna buy limewire pro you can do so but you can also download the full version through the trial version.If you wanna how to transform into full version, write it in the comments.

Limewire is crap.
Ares is by far the best

I would have to say that limewire is the best...when downloading music though dont download the modem version of the song...go t1 or t3 and higher...or dsl/cable...this works very well...

Limewire is the best. You can even go under options and chose not to share files with others so it protects ur privacy!

Lime wire.. it's free. Just make sure that you also have a good virus scanner like Norton's Symantec (which is excellent) or Mcafee so you don't dl any viruses.
