Rude neighbors?

The apartment downstairs is putting loud music that is like a club joint place. We can hear their conversations and them jumping up and down. It's driving me crazy. They even get high while sitting on the stairs.

I want to report them to the office but I'm just scared what if they find out that it was our family that reported them. They are dangerous neighbors.

wow,..i used to bang a broom on my ceiling, cause of my loud
upstairs neighbor...but that's different. I called the cops for
harassment..cause he'd be a jerk. My manager finally kicked
him out. Your manager needs to know what's going on. And
just keep complaining, and having the police there, till they get
kicked out. Usually, they'll just go away..and won't come back.
It all depends on how brave you are..whether u want to stay and
fight. Or, move. But, the manager is the one who will 86 them.

When you talk to the office ask them not to bring up your name. If you don't feel comfortable talking to the office you do need to call the police. I would anyway because of the fact that they are doing drugs in the hallway. When you report them you can just say that you were passing by and heard very loud music coming from their apartment and remain annoymous. I had to deal with almost the same thing. I was actually living with them and called the police on them. I did what I suggested you to do and it worked. They did not know that it was me that called until the day I moved out and told them. Don't report them to the office. The office probably already knows about the stuff they are into but they stand to lose money if they evict them. Report them to the POLICE and do so as discreetly as possible so they can't lie and clean up their dirty act before you get a police witness. If they are dangerous before you report them and they are detracting from your family's quality of life now, you are simply allowing them to become even more bold and aggressive with the foolishness they will try on you in the future. If you cannot move, you MUST cause them a problem and let them know you will not live in fear and tolerate their stupidity. Sometimes you must take dangerous chances in order to survive. Just be prepared to fight fire with fire.

ok, this will take some creative brainstorming. the joke shop has fart bags...nasty nasty things, my boys get them and when they pop them off outside it smells for hours like a fresh ate-a-whole-raw-onion fart! those should keep them off of the stairs.
all joking aside, you mention that you have a family. moving is expensive. youll have to weigh the feeling of a secure home with the expense of moving. what is more important to you? i wouldnt tell the office if you feel they are dangerous. the office will undoubtedly tell them who complained. also, the office has no incentive to boot them if they are making money off of them. police would do the trick. i would make sure they saw you leave (pass them while theyre smoking pot on the stairs), then wait a few hours until they start making noise and call the cops with a drug use complaint (not noise). they will know you havent been home for a while, and will never think it was you. maybe even come home as the cops are arresting them and have a baffled look on your face.

i'd say try talking to them first and ask them to turn down the music at night unless you feel they will try to aggravate you even more.

If so then go to the office and report them tell the office not to disclose who made the report, if you can hear all the noise so can at least a few other neighbors.

Report them to the police anonymously next time they are being unruly. Chances are, your other neighbors have felt the same way and not said anything either. Do your neighborhood a favor.

They are disturbing the peace. I'm sure the landlord doesn't want the property destroyed by these people.The police should be called if drugs are involved. If you want some action to be taken against them, you will have to report them. Tell the office and the police to leave your names out of it.

I am in the same situation. I did call my apartment office, and they suggested I knock on the door!! Luckily, my neighbours don't seem dangerous like yours. If you are truly afraid, call the police. They get paid to deal with noise complaints and to curtail illegal activities, like drugs in areas where there are children.

Dont report them to the manager. Instead call the police. Ask to be kept anonymous and say why.

Pretend that you are going out of town and spend the night elsewhere. Call the cops and report them from where you are with an anonymous call. They wont suspect you......works everytime.
