When it comes to style, I'm kind of clueless. I've been considering getting bangs...Are they definitely still "in" or are they on the way out? I don't want mine to still be growing out long after everyone else's. And what styles of bangs are the best?
My hair's straight and a little past shoulder length. Face shape may be something to take into consideration, but I don't really know mine. I'd probably say oval, but not long or narrow.
I'd probably prefer a longer style of bangs, because they take forever to grow out.

I know that was kind of long, but any advice on bangs would be greatly appreciated. :)

There are magazines that are all about hairstyles, so you can start at the grocery or drug store. Most salons also keep a stock of hairstyle magazines and books, so make an appointment and arrive early so you can look through them. Your face shape is definitely important. If you find a style of bangs you like, look at the person's face shape and see if it is similar to yours. Show the photo to the stylist and ask her opinion also. I would not recommend going in and just telling him/her what you want without a photo.
You should not worry about what's "in" or "out" based on what Hollywood or some magazine says. I think you're allowed to have bangs in the real world!

I think bangs on an oval or heart shaped face look lovely. Depending on the length of the bang you can either wear it on your forehead like a solid fringe or comb them to the side for a different look.

Talk to your hairstylist, she's /he's trained to find the best style for you and will tell you if bangs /fringe will suit you.

I personally LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE my bangs, and yeah, I think they're still in style (where I live, anyways). I went through a lot of different bang styles, but one of my favourites was bangs that were parted in the middle, and they got longer and longer on the sides. I think that's the best style for you, because it's a little longer, and doesn't take forever to grow out.

Bangs look good on non-frizzy hair. And also, I think it depends on the shape of your head. If you got a big forehead, definitely get one, even if it goes out of style.

maybe just get layers. this will look good with this season's big curled hair, and grows out faster. where to start the layers for your face shape, is something your hair cutter should know.
