what part of your foot hurts?? in general aleve will help most pains, especially bone pains, like from injury or arthritis.

if you have leg swelling from standing too long it could be from swelling in your legs and could be relieved by elevating your legs or a diuretic (water pill)

Well, the first thing you might want to make sure of is....make sure your wearing a good pair of tennis shoes,or even a pair of walking shoes. This will help with adding support, and comfort when your standing, walking at work. The second thing you might want to consider is....try soaking both your legs and feet once your home from work in some Epsom salt. But,of course soak while in a nice warm/hot bath....this really helps with relieving pain, and easing the muscles, tendons. And,lastly....you have several options when it comes to over the counter pain medications....Ibuprofen is a good choice for pain relief,as it's an anti inflammatory and helps with both pain, and inflammation.Tylenol also works well for pain, but offers no relief of the inflammation. Aleve works about the same as Ibuprofen, and lasts about 12 hours. I find more pain relief using Ibuprofen. And,if you find no relief in any of the medications I've listed. You should speak with your doctor about a possible prescription pain medication(s). Hope this helps.

I'm sure an over the counter pain killer would lessen the foot pain, but I personally don't take them unless I absolutely need to. I used to stand on my feet about 6 hours a day and my feet would kill me at the end of the day. I bought me a foot massager, filled it with vey warm/hot water, and would put a foot bath liquid or salt in the massager and enjoyed. Another thing I did was buy a better shoe, one with good arch support and an insole wouldn't hurt either.

I use to stand at my job and I took aleve and it would help. then when I would come home I would soak my feet in warm water with epsom salts in the water and this would really help. Also when you get a break or a lunch break try to put your feet up in a chair this will also help.
