don't feel nervous at all. she knows and understands this stage in your life.
I remember my first time telling my mom. We were out shopping at the shoe store and I was feeling a bit uncomfortable. I went to the restroom and because something just didn't feel right. I ran like crazy out of the bathroom and told her I needed some pads. She was like we will get the school supplies tomorrow today we are getting shoes. I just blurted out without hesitation I am leaking on myself. She was shocked and happy at the same time (i think anyway) I know she got mushy on me cause she said I was turning into a young lady.
Anyway, just tell her it is a growing bond thing btwn a mom and daughter anyway. Good luck with the convo.

Just find the right time, if you get scared-tell her you're a little nervous and she'll probably ease you into telling her. Dont' worry it's not like it's a bad thing, why are you so scared? You are starting a new stage in your life were having trust in your mom is VERY important. Good luck, and I am sure everything will be ok, she's been there, done that-no worries:)

I just got my first period a few days ago....my mom and i arent that close...i dont tell her about boys or anything but every once in awhile [before] we would talk about getting my first period and that i would get it soon. So when I got it i just ran downstairs and told her...simple. It might be kind of embarassing but once you do it then its fine. She'll know what you are going through. My mom was like 'really?!' and was so supportive. Or you can just buy pads with your own money or when you go to CVS or something pick them up and she'll get the idea. You wont want to hide it for much longer

Why would you be scared of that? Did your mom explain the whole 'thing' to you? then it should be no prob...but otherwise try writing a coded note [the red dot is now in my possession] and leaving it where she will find it, srry, i cant think of anything better. But don't worry, she will be proud and happy for you..Good luck!

If its hard for you to tell her face to face write her a note just saying that you got your period but were too shy to tell her. Moms know what its like and are reallly helpful.

I just put my bloody underwear in the wash. Thats what I did when I got home from my trip. (i got my period when I went on a trip with my brother and father. not fun.) She asked if i'd gotten my period, and I said yes. She didn't try to give me a speech about it since it already happened. It worked out perfectly for me.

just let her know at some random time if you dont want to talk about it. that way shell be too busy to talk about your bloody surprise. haha but if you want to have a good talk about it then just hint to her that yould like to chat later about something. i didnt find it to be awkward at all bcuz i know everyone goes through it. & if you treat it as a big deal then it BECOMES a big deal. otherwise it could be seen as a minor part of your life. have a happy period! :]

Tell her that you need some pads, and she can take the hint. She went through the same thing when she was younger, she knows how it feels.
