I am a Christian without a denominational following. I follow Jesus, my Lord and Savior. I have been a devoted Christian for many, many years. Belief in Jesus is all that is needed to be saved. Belief that He gave His life to bridge the gap between man and God. Through Jesus we are able to know God and develop a relationship with Him. You will find the answers you are looking for in the Bible. The bible is written in different understandable forms. The New International Version is easy reading or if you are on the younger side, you might like the Message Bible that is worded in even a more easier everyday language. A good place to start in the bible would be the book of John and then Romans. I encourage you to connect with a group of believers either through a church or home group. I serve as a prayer minister for my church where I counsel and pray with others in need and will keep you lifted in pray as you seek truth and receive salvation.

I am Protestant and have been for as long as I can remember, although I didn't start actually understanding anything until about 5 years ago.

The thing that makes Christianity, or Protestantism, different from other religions is that you can't buy your way into heaven. It's given to you. It's your choice whether or not you want to accept this gift.

If you truly want to accept this gift, then you would live your life as Jesus did, helping others, loving others. Yes, this is very broad, but having a mindset like this will allow wonderful actions to come from you. It can be as simple as just not wanting revenge, or forgiving someone instead of holding a grudge.

Just read the Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and you'll see how Jesus lived his life and how radical his actions were, as they were totally against normal human nature.

I believe in that the Bible is the Inspired, Infallible, Inerrant Word of God. I don't listen to men, they are fallible, I listen to what the Bible says. The Bible says in St. John 3:5 that we must be born again of the water AND the spirit. Jesus taught that this is the way into the Kingdom Of God. Acts 2:4 tells that when the first assembly of believers recieved the Holy Ghost, they spoke in tongues (unknown language) AS THE SPIRIT GAVE UTTERANCE. This is a characteristic of the Holy Ghost. Peter preached the Message of Salvation on the first day of the First Church. Acts 2:38 says that we are to repent of our sins, be baptized in Jesus name for the remission of our sins, and we will recieve the Holy Ghost. with the evidence of speaking in an unknown language, verifiable with Mark 16:17, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 19:6. The rest of the New testament was written to the people that experienced acts 2:38 and went back to their homes (after Passover was finished) and met together in homes to praise and worship Jesus Christ on Sunday Mornings. These get togethers were the first churchs throughout the civilized world. The letters were circulated among these churchs to keep them saved!! Experience Acts 2:38 for yourself and the Holy Ghost will lead you in ALL TRUTH!! He is waiting on you!! God Bless You.

Simple as A-B-C

Admit you are a sinner - - that you need forgiveness

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, that he died for your sins and rose again to bring you to God.

Confess through prayer that Jesus is the only way to God and COMMIT to live for Him the rest of your life.

Scripture references: John 3:16; Romans 3:23; 1 Peter 3:18;
John 1:12

Here's a sample of a prayer that many people say to become Christians:

Dear Lord Jesus,

I know I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the grave to give me life. I know You are the only way to God, so help me to quit disobeying You and to start living for You. Please forgive me, change my life, and make yourself real to me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I am Protestant, however no particular denomination. I have been saved for more than 2000 years - - - because THAT is when Jesus saved us all. However, I accepted Christ's death & resurrection and really brought him into my life at age 12, which is 34 years.

We are saved BY grace THROUGH faith IN Jesus Christ verified by our works, the way we live, and our adherance to Jesus' teachings.

I am a member of Church of Christ 10 years now (wow its been that long?) We have it right because our church operates under the assumption that God has given us what we need to live faithful lives right in Scripture and that through Gods power combined with some effort, each of us can learn and contribute to each others faith and help spread the Gospel as he intended. I have had 4.5 years of Bible college but I am not an ordained minister. If I can be of any assistance, plz do msg me. Thanks and God bless!

SALVATION
Ac 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
Ac 16:30 “ what must I do to be saved?”
Ac 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”
Eph 1:13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,
PRAYER
Ro 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Ro 10:10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
1Co 15:2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

I am a Christian.
I have been saved for ten years. There are no actual sects in Christianity. All who believe in Christ finished work on the cross are my family in the Kingdom of GOD.

Act 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

If you have ears to hear,, this is your answer.
Shalom!

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.Notice the words "believe on".This is not a mere intellectual acknowledgement that He existed, but that you are trusting in His death on the cross to pay for your sins, and turn away from sin.I have been a believer for 6 years, and I go to a nondenominational protestant church. We endeavor to follow the Word of God,nothing added, nothing taken away,

First, a jailer once asked that same exact question verbatim to the apostle Paul in prison in Acts 16. The question and answer are in Acts16:30-31. Read from about verse 16 to get the whole gist.

Ok , hold on its a bit lengthy.

I am an evangelical Christian +/- 35 years. Not to be arrogant, but I believe we are right because we understand the reason for the sacrifice of Christ. Many sects believe in adding to it. They say I believe in Jesus but I have to live a good enough life to earn salvation as if God will have a scale in heaven and weigh your good deeds against your bad ones. There are no good ones. The bible says we are DEAD in trespasses and sins. It says there is none righteous, no not one. You see , you can't buy, you can't earn, you can't even sweet talk your way to salvation. Dead is Dead. We are all guilty before a Holy, Righteous God that has absolutely no tolerance for sin what so ever period the end.

So if we are all DEAD, then how do we get life. It would be like a corpse resurrecting itself. Impossible.

Heres where Jesus comes into the picture. Heres where the love of God becomes so vital. Hers where John 3:16 applies. Some say God could have done nothing and left us all to hell. God could not, for God is not only righteous, but God is LOVE. His nature compels him to not only hold us accountable for sin, but to also sacrifice himself through his son to provide a vehicle to escape the penalty. God sent his only begotten son to live a life without sin for the sole purpose of giving it as a sacrifice for the sin of all man kind. God does Love us. Imagine giving up your child knowing full well they will be brutally beaten, mocked, rejected and abused to inch of their life by the people hes dying for only to be hung on a cruel cross to die.

But then you might ask why do men go to hell if their sin is paid for? His sacrifice was sufficient but not efficient. The price was right and made salvation AVAILABLE to all, but there is still a responsibility of each man to actuate it.

Each man must acknowledge his deadness, realize his inability to reconcile himself to God, and do nothing more or less than Romans 10:13 "Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved'. You humble yourself before your creator, admit your guilt and trust and cling to the fact that Christ paid your price, , and you will in that moment receive life. You will be born again. You will be reconciled to God through the blood of Christ.

The bible says in John 1:10-11, that when Christ came, the world did not recognize him and rejected him. But then in John 1:12 it says that to all who received him, to those that believe in his name, he gave the right to become the children of God.

So, why do evangelical Christians focus on Jesus so much? Why do they always draw your attention to Jesus? Its because its all about him. Its him and him alone. Not me, not my good deeds. I add nothing but faith. When I die and stand before God there will be no scale. Only a heart stained with the blood of Christ which will please my God.
