Go and ask what they recommend at your local drugstore. There are gels and ointments that will break down the bruise within a few days. I used to do full-contact Martial Arts, and was always getting banged up. I used a product called Thrombophob, and it worked like a charm.
It might not be available where you stay, but they should be able to suggest an alternative at the drug store. Ibuprofen will also help to control the inflammation.
As someone has already mentioned, if the bruise carries on spreading, get to a Doctor.

Apply a cold compress. Should have been done ASAP after the injury. When you fell, you ruptured blood vessels under the skin causing a contusion (bruising). The bruise is only as large as the damage to the blood vessels. It will hurt for a while so keep your leg still & elevated when possible. The bruise will turn yucky colors & as it heals will start to fade. You'll be okay!

Avoid aspirin. Aspirin is a blood thinner and will cause a bruise to increase in size (also called a contusion or hematoma). Apply ice and take ibuprofen for soreness. If the bruise does not go away within a few weeks (yes, I said weeks), consult your doctor and have your platelet count checked. If you take aspirin on a daily basis (for a heart problem), talk to your doctor first.

First, make sure it's a bruise. Bruises can look bad, but they go.
The best thing - it's natural, too - for bruises is Arnica cream. However, if it's growing, it might not be a bruise. See your doctor, but don't worry;-) Avoid aspirin, acetominaphine, or anything that makes your blood thinner. Take iron and a multi-vitamin.:-)

a bruise is pooled blood under the skin from a broken blood vessel. Elevate the area, apply ice, and rest. If it continues to grow, you may still be bleeding and you should go to the doctors.

swap ice packs and heating pad. ice will help the swelling and the heating pad will help the blood go away. It takes 24 to 36 hours for a bruise to full form. You might need to go ahead and see a doctor just incase you did not bust something.
